Here is a concept I just did with Illustrator 3D feature using a symbol I created I mapped it onto the sphere. the other designs are with a custom brush on a path and some masking. I thought I would share it with you :)

Mapping with gradient and hill added. ~ The I-X stands for INTRINSIC-X the name of our band.
