In my opinion U have to think every logo first in terms of masculine-feminine-unisex. After that, keep in mind the age group and the values of this particular group. If the "water sports" address to kids, the first logo must be improve maybe in its shapes. The last logo is a combination between childish and masculine (letters are strong and sharp), so there is an inconsistency in it. If I had to choose, I go on the first one.

Nice evolution of the design. I'm wondering what it would look like without the orb. There are some interesting white spaces to explore there.

I think this image is showing it's versitility through the feedbacks and comments..
I don't think there is one exact way for it to look to be pleasing to all.
If it was used for kids mostly I'd go with the first font.
if it was used for lets say an apparel or wakeboard company I'd go w/ the second font.
I'll see what it looks/feels like w/out the orb and playing w/ the white space some.
