Hi,
First time in here and I would like to know about the content of the portfolio required to be a member. Am I able to use all of the material, despite how old it is, or only the recent ones? What else should be included?
Thanks in advance !
I hope they do explain it. I need to know if I need to start posting some of the designs that I have currently going through another website.
First.. would you ask this question going into an interview for a job?
No.. probably not.. so what should you do???
Go through all your stuff and pick what you think is your best pieces. If you want to design for web, print or logo or all of them then showcase your best works for each area.
No one is going to tell you what you need to put into your portfolio, that is your decision. if you get rejected then you need to take a look.
there is also a thread I started in the designer hang out that may help you.
I'm on vacation so I won't go search for it.
And could someone explain me why they did not updated me to an Elite Designer! I'm so heavy waiting for becoming one ... was my portfolio not ok?
Thx i.A. for the answer.
So I take it you've applied.. have you received an email yet? if not then they haven't gotten to it. If you were accepted just fallow the steps and be patient. they will then ask what the community thinks of you..
Guys read through the site and you'll find all your answers.
Also there is a search funtion on this site as well.

Hi, im new here or..., I never had a portfolio but i have many sketches and desing, there is some way that this works must be shown, i mean how format, size, quantity...etc ?
Format doesn't matter just your work.
And if you are planing on participating in logo work then you'll want to display your finialized versions of your logos. All logo's should be done in a vector program and saved as a jpg or similar.
same goes for other areas you'd like to participate in.

Do the designs have to be all graphic design oriented?
You are at a Design Contest site. Most of the contests here are for logos.. there for if you are wanting to submite a portfolio to this site. then yes it has to be graphic design oriented.
If you just want to show some of your work then make an Artistic portfolio. Showing your paintings, drawings, pictures and what not.

Once I submit designs, will they show up on my portfolio page?
Yes, as soon as you enter a contest here you will see on your profile page two new tabs appear below the "About Me" section.
The tabs are: "Recent Designs" and "Contests Entered". And when you win a contest, a third tab will appear next to Contests Entered, it is "Contests Won". I hope that clears things up.
