Hi,

First time in here and I would like to know about the content of the portfolio required to be a member. Am I able to use all of the material, despite how old it is, or only the recent ones? What else should be included?

Thanks in advance !

First.. would you ask this question going into an interview for a job?
No.. probably not.. so what should you do???

Go through all your stuff and pick what you think is your best pieces. If you want to design for web, print or logo or all of them then showcase your best works for each area.
No one is going to tell you what you need to put into your portfolio, that is your decision. if you get rejected then you need to take a look.
there is also a thread I started in the designer hang out that may help you.
I'm on vacation so I won't go search for it. :D

And could someone explain me why they did not updated me to an Elite Designer! I'm so heavy waiting for becoming one ... was my portfolio not ok?

So I take it you've applied.. have you received an email yet? if not then they haven't gotten to it. If you were accepted just fallow the steps and be patient. they will then ask what the community thinks of you..

Guys read through the site and you'll find all your answers.

Also there is a search funtion on this site as well. ;)

Format doesn't matter just your work.
And if you are planing on participating in logo work then you'll want to display your finialized versions of your logos. All logo's should be done in a vector program and saved as a jpg or similar.
same goes for other areas you'd like to participate in.

Do the designs have to be all graphic design oriented?

You are at a Design Contest site. Most of the contests here are for logos.. there for if you are wanting to submite a portfolio to this site. then yes it has to be graphic design oriented.

If you just want to show some of your work then make an Artistic portfolio. Showing your paintings, drawings, pictures and what not.

Once I submit designs, will they show up on my portfolio page? I have been looking at how other designers have ther logo design laid out and its completely different from my page. I am sure the answer must be here already but there is a lot to read through and I am not finding it. Thanks!

Yes, as soon as you enter a contest here you will see on your profile page two new tabs appear below the "About Me" section.

The tabs are: "Recent Designs" and "Contests Entered". And when you win a contest, a third tab will appear next to Contests Entered, it is "Contests Won". I hope that clears things up. :)

Is it okay if my portfolio is on Free Website | Free Flash Website Builder at Wix.com. it is free and I can customize it easily that is why I started it there. If not where and how can I create an online portfolio?

I don't recommend you to use free website builders. It has that "cheap" feeling.
I would rather use one of the popular websites specialzied for personal gallery hosting, like flickr or deviantart.
