Moving to Luxembourg

How's the job market over there?
Will I starve to death or return to the states?
Any feedback from designers in the area?

don't know about the market in Luxembourg (though it is not far from France). But just out of curiosity, you do speak their language, don't you? without the language it may be hard to get ANY job at all.

Just curious, why are you moving there?

Just english and spanish
The thing is my wife doesn't have a visa to come to the states but she can travel over there. that's why i'm moving.
it's an all for love thing!

Why not just file form I-130 and I-485 for her?

it's been 3 weeks now, they said they were going to send a letter in about a month.
I filed for a fiance visa, but I guess I'll have to go back and get married and file as a spouse. We've been together for 4 years now but unfortunately I had to come to the states.

Thats strange, if you've been together for four years they had absolutely no reason to deny the application as far as I know.. unless she has a criminal record, or you have a record involving drugs. I'm originally from England. I don't think the I-601 applies in the K-1 visa application though. The I-601 is an appeal when a marriage based visa has been denied, and in it you must show why the USC cannot live in the aliens country of residence, due to hardship, what those hardships would be etc. Did they actually give a reason why it had been denied?

well we got nervous on the interview and they said we didn't have a relationship.
Also that they were going to return the documents to the visa dept. and I should expect a letter from them in about a month.
That's why I'm thinking to go back and marry her and file as a spouse.

Didnt you bring documents supporting the fact that you do have a relationship? Like love letters, utility bills with both of your names on them, photos of you both together, letters from people testifying you were a couple etc?
If you just go to the consulate and say "hey we're in love", its unlikely they'll listen to you, if you bring proof its extremely unlikely they'll deny it.
I think if you're going to get nervous and forget the most important things, you should consult an attorney who specializes in immigration, it'll cost you about $4500 in total, but if you really want to live in America with your girlfriend/wife, it will be worth it. I know of an attorney who is about the ONLY one in America I respect, she specializes in marriage based immigration too, so if you ever want her URL just let me know and I'll PM it to you. I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having with moving though, that's rough; I hope everything runs smoothly...

On another note, it's an amazing country, and I think you'll highly enjoy it. I would move there in a heartbeat [I've been there in case anybody is wondering...] I'm sure you know that the main languages are German and French; and it's strange how the language depends on the specific field you get involved in. You only really need to know Luxembourgish if you want to become a citizen; but if you know German, you'll have a great start.

I'm not exactly sure how the Designing Market is over there; I do know, that, like the rest of Europe, Luxembourg is highly interested in Modern Art. And besides that, it's a huge world banking center. If you live in Luxembourg City, you'll be about four hours out of Paris, four hours out of Frankfurt, and three hours out of Brussels; so you'll probably have a good field in any direction you look.

But if you're moving to Luxembourg, more power to you. It's, in my opinion, one of the most interesting and beautiful countries on earth. I only wish I could move there right now. If you have any questions, I'll do what I can to help you out...
