BigBoys Designer Underwear for Real Men

The contest closed during the Christmas and New Years holidays. The DC system should "allow" extra time during holiday periods. The designer made a few misjudgments but to be fair , he made an excellent recovery ... I would recommend the system and this designer.

  • I cannot understand how you would have done this and then asked for feedback. This effort and ad doesnt represent the product we are selling at all. In fact you are promoting the competitor which is almost insulting. Its a good effort for them NOT for BigBoys - You should submit this design to the owner of that competitor underwear company
  • To CH: I don't understand why you eliminated my entry. Please give feedback & let me know what you would like to see in my next entry! Thank you.
    • with respect this isnt a place for whining... you have 10 entries to this system and yet don't have a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place success - this is simply a contest which only started yesterday. There can only be one winner. Your entry was of a very low design standard sorry. you asked for feedback and I now gave it. Please understand the submissions are a "contest" NOT for providing feedback and what I would like to see is creativity, innovation and above all the highest standard of professionalism .. I've already provided the brief and the specifications and it is a buyer contest not a seller competition.

    • I'm not whining. I just didn't understand what you were looking for that's all. Apparently newspapers print in color in Ireland? They don't do that here normally, unless you're paying through the nose. I did not realize you wanted color submissions. And by the way, my work is professional.

    • Very well. The $330 Prize is 100% guaranteed. I wish you well and maximum success.

  • Dear CH, I have uploaded my design. Please look at my design #3 and give me your valuable feedback on my design. Your feedback will be very helpful to improve the design. Kind Regards,
  • This is in 4th position in the contest at the moment Babba This has potential .. the contest will not close for another week. However can you please adjust the layout and leave an extra depth in area in the footer so the following contact information is used Please put icons to save wasting space with words www.BigBoys.ie - (Telephone icon) Dublin 01 6877110 or Cork 021 4627403 or (mobile device icon) SMS the name "bigboys" to 087 9160619 for a free flyer by post. You also need to place a dummy qr code in this section please.
    • Hello dear Versacchi! Here are my new proposals: #102, #103, #104, #105 & #108 (#106, #107 & #109 mockups). I think layout design grabs attention, that's why I had chosen orange as a dominant among the newspaper bulky page. I have designed both versions, with covered underwear and the full image. Actually, underwear is so original and effective - it definitively grabs my attention automatically (speaking as a female consumer), so I prefer not to cover it (even covered versions may shake up consumer's curiosity)... as it just speaks for it self. But decision is yours. Also, the image I have chosen is not too posy and is manly enough, as well as high quality res. image. I would be more than a happy for your feedback and suggestions you may have. Kindest regards.

    • Hi Babba.. I agree with you 100% - however the newspaper rules wont allow the uncovered images.. they claim they are "appropriate! Silly people. #106 and #108 have potential to win the competition.. My decision will be made in 3 days. Good Luck, Thank You very much for your great efforts. Merry Christmas

    • Oh, that's unfortunate. I imagine lot of potential customers would missed it. But that's the rule, I understand... so I tried and will try to grab attention and curiosity trough design layout and visual massage, hopefully successful. Thank you very much Versacchi. Merry Christmas to You too!

  • Hi Versacchi, I have #29, #30, #31, #32, and #33 ideas, can some feedback for that. I am open for other solutions. Thanks, krisdesign
    • Thank you for effort but these wouldnt work on a newspaper but would work very well on magazine (glossy) but this is strictly for newspaper

  • Hi CH, It would be great if you provide the high res pictures of your product for best results. The pictures at your website are good for the screen but not for print. So please upload high res pictures and logo in the Brief section or provide the download link. Regards.
    • Hi, I intend to do this when the draft design is announced the winner. The images you can pull from istock or our website will do for screen use for now in the infancy stage. Thank You

  • This has potential .. the contest will not close for another week. The challenge is to somehow place a dummy qR code over the tip of the penis area as the newspaper will not allow this in its current format unfortunately.. Like a 3D effect so it looks like the tip of the penis has pushed out the qr code see here is our other site how the 3 images in the centre of the screen "Look" like they are popping out of the screen ... http://wheatgrass.ie/ I hope this helps. Thank You

  • Dear Versacchi, I submitted my first designs from #20 to #27. Hope you will like some of them. Thank you! Best Regards, KChochev
  • Hi Versachhi, I updated as requested #37 #38 #39, tried slightly different sizes, but let me know if you mean something else. I tried white on black and black on white or text at bottom. I am open for any suggestions you have... I am also trying to make something that will stand out on the page and draw someones attention... pity they won't print it as is... (on a lighter note... if you can guarantee my husband will look like this he is getting a pair for Christmas)!! Best regards, Liz
    • Hi Liz, you are 100% correct when you said thats it a pity they wont leave it as is.. The way you position the code just won't work in its present design layout.. If you could see the AshvaMedia entry what he/she did with the QR code was interesting. Here are a few items for your consideration. Clearly the ad looks great without messing it up with the qr code positioning. however this is necessary unfortunately. The next disaster Liz is asking me for opinions. I cant design.. You can so trust your own judgement than trying to depend on mine. They is probably a clever way to even slightly cover what is causing the newspaper this silly grief.. the idiots there in the ad department say it's inappropriate.. can you try anything without spoiling the design like wavy footer or that other designer (who will not win this) but AshvaMedia made the whole thing just on the QR department look acceptable. I am happy to send your husband a complimentary pair for Xmas.. send me your royal mail address through bigboys.ie In the meantime please try a couple of things the Lizatize way - you are in with a chance to win this .. in fact its between just 3 of you now. Thank You.

  • Hi there Versacchi, entries #14 and #41 are not meeting your size requirement/res for print, please check with the designer to make sure the designer has correct size Thank you
  • Any Review on my Design...kindly advice on the same...regards, Manoj
  • Hi CH, Please let me know if there's anything you want to improve with my Draft #46 and it's variations. Your feedback will be highly appreciated. Cheers Rissie
  • #61 and #64 are the same, I took the border line away in #61 so I mocked it up to enable you to see more clearly where the edges of the add are in #64. Kind regards, Liz
    • Hi Liz, I really like what you have done and what you do.. and the very professional way in which you approach everything.. For effort alone.. you get 10/10 - Honestly my head is wrecked .. there is effectively 3 joint 1st's now. #64 would look great in a magazine but #61 is probably my favourite from you. I have one final favour to ask and I'll decide this over the weekend.. 6 pints later me thinks... see the footer message you will need to add an extra line and reset the layout a notch smaller as the sms message I gave originally made no sense.. please place this instead........ SMS the word "bigboys" followed by your name & address to 087 9160619 for a free flyer by post You cant do any more then Liz and I am grateful ... Please do do things #1 send your hubbys order request letting me know size, preferred colours and style.... I'll pop them off in the Royal mail as soon as you do... just post through the contact page on bigboys.ie I would be more than delighted to at least do that for you, especially with it been christmas :->) also Liz do you do any speciality design work like landing pages or wordpress sites? Just curious as I may do some direct work related stuff with you based on your skill sets and preferences. Ok 1 final tiny revision and its a case of decision next week. Thank You Liz - Gerry

  • any feed back on the design submitted by me ....regards
  • Hi Arafa The words BigBoys STAND OUT should do exactly that "stand out" without spoiling the ad somehow You also are not adhering to the required size 200 High x 113 Wide including footer contact details. Please correct this as we need to see how it will look. I need to add the following missing words to the footer where it says.. or SMS the name "BIGBOYS"followed by your name & address to 087 9160619 for a free flyer by post. You are now in joint 1st position to win this contest.. but there is more work to do before we reach our final decision at the weekend. Thank you.
    • Hi, I've sent 4 new design #66 #67 #68 #69. I've suggested 2 diferent size for the footer, and 4 diferent style for the STAND OUT. please tell me what do you prefer. For the size, in the brief you put 200mm (H) X 115mm (W). Iv'e done all my works at this size, but if you prefere i can change to 200 High x 113 Wide. Thanks a lot for your comments. Do not hesitate to tell me if you want changes. Arafa

  • Dear Versacchi, I put some blue on the background in #63 & #65 while I kept the white background version #62 updated with the latest suggestions. The difference between #63 & #65 is in the orange/blue description to the Modal logo area. Thank you! Best Regards, KChochev
  • Liz just a follow up, there is potential if the qr code was joined in a clever unige design way to the footer contact information .... I also omitted to put the necessary words which will require an extra line in the footer.. so it should read SMS the word "bigboys" followed by your name & address to 087 9160619 for a free flyer by post Just in case you don't want to waste anymore time on this.. you are now in position 3 but that could change with the final effort and push. Thank You. I
    • Thanks for your feedback, I tried something else. #60 Trying to keep it looking clean, and hiding the bits you are not allowed without looking like it is hiding it. Not sure if you like it this way. Will try the other method you suggested with the code too. Kind regards, Liz

  • Sorry I made this mistake.. please add 1 more line to the footer. Thank you SMS the word "bigboys" followed by your name & address to 087 9160619 for a free flyer by post.
