Project description

This project is a cartoon with a series of 5 illustrations explaining a breakthrough software product in easy-to-understand terms. The theme will have a retro 1940s comic book feel. The analogies will compare online privacy to a bank. First Illustration: Your online presence is like a bank, filled with valuables. While a bank contains your money and safe deposit box, your electronic devices contain your private information. -Picture of woman standing in bank behind counter- Second Illustration: Firewall on your computer acts like a fence surrounding the bank, preventing thieves from breaking in…or so you’ve been told. Like your Firewall, the fence surrounding the bank has holes in it. -Fence with holes in it with a thief slipping through the fence- Third Illustration Your antivirus software works like armed guards protecting the bank. But like your antivirus, sometimes the guards take a break from protecting your valuables. -Armed guards sleeping or eating a sandwich while a thief slips into the bank- Fourth Illustration Even if the fence gets repaired, and the bank hires attentive guards, thieves can still get in! How? Because sometimes the thieves are let in willingly. - Thief (with a silly disguise) getting escorted into bank by unknowing teller- When you click trust for applications to put on your smartphone, tablet, or computer, you could unknowingly let the bad guys into your device. Fifth Illustration *Product Name* is like a private detective always on the case! *Product Name* is protection for your data-ports –including your microphone and webcam where the bad guys get in. - Picture of the good guy who is protecting the bank -

      |--| Thanks! Very talented work, I'm impressed. I'm looking for something a little bit different. I'm envisioning characters that are a bit more comic book-ish, with a 1940's flare. The real product I'm describing blocks cyber snooping, and I'm using the illustrations to draw a comparison. When I think of a snoop, it reminds me of someone in a fedora and a trenchcoat, which is why I'm looking for something a bit retro, but would be pleasing to look at on a Kickstarter website. I'm not an artist, so I realize it's difficult to relay the imagery. I've extended the contest and increased the amount for that reason! Thanks for your work, and I look forward to seeing more.

  • Do you want it like one page with five frames or multiple pages?
    • Multiple pages may be easier. Each cartoon is a frame. Thanks for your interest!

    • Great! Can't wait.

    • What are your brand colours? I can use it for the hero's costume. regards Raman

      |--| WOW! These are fantastic. The colors are light blue and silver.

    • Thanks for the feedback. I will update the colours on hero's costume. I have given some old paper look to the comic for the retro effect.

    • We'll have to erase the cross and bible from the bad guy though ;-) I'll give you more feedback about how the good guy should look shortly. Thanks so much!

    • Ok. I will wait for the update. Meanwhile I revised some colours and uploaded new designs. regards

  • Hi elouiseoneill, Just to clarify. On the first illustration do you want a female customer standing in the bank maybe handing over some cash OR do you just want a cashier sitting behind the counter? Also, do you want the illustrations in full color or should I stick to black and white like the other entrant? Regards, Bill
    • Hi Bill, I'd like to see color illustrations, although since we are pressed for time, black and white is fine and we can work together to fill in the color. I need some help with the artistic vision. Either one of your visions would work for the first frame. Just as long as they are pleasing to the eye, and have a bit of retro 40's comic book-ish flare. I described this in more detail below. Thanks again, Bill. I look forward to seeing the design!

  • Hello Elouiseoneill, I sent this illustration #10, will be waiting to hear your feedback and comments on it.

    • Very sharp! I thought they were a part of the second set, actually. Great start.

  • Dear CH you need to choose the winner first. When the contest expires designers cannot comment. They are ready do all the necessary modifications.
  • I am picking you as the winner of the contest. There are a few more changes I'd like to make to the cartoon, however. It would be great if we can work together to make some of those changes! Your designs are exceptional.
