Project description

We need a logo designed for our new alpaca farm. The farm is named "The Laughing Alpaca". The logo needs to be able to be used on clothing (either embroidered or silk screened) and on business cards, so no photography. Because of the format, there can only be a maximum of three colors plus white. We do not have a preference in color nor in style/design, so everything will be considered. Please try to incorporate the "Laughing" (or "festive") element into the logo. Looking forward to seeing your designs! So far, the highest rated designs gave been those that "pop". Could be the color - could be the contrast - could be the design. Also receiving additional consideration are those that illicit either an emotional or playful feeling. Ultimately, we would hope that the logo makes us smile. Don't be afraid to go outside the box...it might just get you the win. As you can tell, we don't want "normal, run-of-the-mill" designs. When the contest is finished, we will be asking for the logo, plus one more edit (the same logo with a ".com" added to it). Thanks.

  • Again, the ears are off, but I like the option.
    • I have submitted different design #71 and #72. I hope this is what you're looking for. Thank you

  • Love the simplicity on this one, but would be interested to see if you could implement at least some form of the alpaca into the design.
    • CH thanks for the feedback on my design. I think you have to give amazing advice. I will immediately implement the alpaca in my simple design but has its own character and aesthetic

    • I agree: your design is simple and aesthetically pleasing, which is why it is rated so high. But if there were a way to get some element of an alpaca integrated with it, that would be even better.

  • I have added #33 .. Tried implementing ur suggestions.. Hope u like it!! Let me know if it suits what u have in mind...
    • Good submission and that image captured the playfulness of the 'paca.

  • Alpacas dont have upper teeth, so you would need to adjust that. Plus I would hope that you could capture the cuteness factor in the eyes (right now, it isnt there). But you have a great design.

      |--| Oops!! I dint know about the teeth .sorry Ill work on it.... and ill try to add the playfulness somehow to the design... Thank u!!

    • No problem. Good luck and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  • The head angle on the first submission was better, but the new ears are much worse (to the point where you actually moved to the "banana-ears" associated with a llama. And the color scheme on this one isnt working. Needs more "pop".
  • Great design. How different would the design be if the mouth were not as "open" and the ears were slightly larger (and pointed up)? Trying to get the pic to capture the "cuteness" and "playfulness" of the alpacas as well. But you are on a good track with this one.
    • Dear CH, Thank you for the ratings, I have submitted #29 with more detailed image and the mouth is not open too wide. I change the color into orange, may be you like it. I also have submitted #31 in different arrangement, but still need your feedback to get the best design. Thank you

  • Can you take this design and use the same colors and font, but change the name to add the "The" in white (similar to the word "farm" in this design)? We would be interested in seeing how that would work.
  • Interesting format. Like it, but you spelled the company name incorrectly. As it is, I can't use it.
  • hey ch.. I posted #24 .. would like to hear ur thoughts on it.. I tried keeping it simple.. will improvise based on ur suggestions.. :)
    • If the critique above doesn't help, just let me know. We are trying to get the logo to reflect the playfulness, cuteness, and loveability of these animals. I know it's difficult to do in this medium, but that is why we are keeping an open mind and open format. Regardless, though, the logo is seen by 'paca experts, so it has to at least be semi-anatomically correct...or caricatured correctly. Hope this helps...

  • Again, the name of the company is "The Laughing Alpaca". Please change your submissions to reflect this. Also, nose is off on this one. Otherwise, it is a good product.
  • Neither the rope border, nor the mis-aligned typeset works on this one. Again, very generic in design as it doesn't work well with our concept of "festive" and "laughing" alpacas.
  • The silhouette on this one doesn't work at all. As stated before, the name should be complete: "The Laughing Alpaca".
  • Again, smile yes, company name and color scheme, no. But I like the design.
  • Better on the laughing element, but still didn't nail the company name. And not sure the purple color scheme worked.
  • Really like the font choice on this one, but the silhouette of the 'paca needs to be tweaked to capture the cuteness (and the laughter) that we are looking for.
  • Rework without "farm" on the logo. It should just be "The Laughing Alpaca". And since we are looking for festivity and cuteness, can you throw other color schemes onto the design?

  • Love the design, but the head needs to be reworked to be considered as a finalist. The head/face resembles a cross between a donkey and llama and needs to get that "cuteness" factor drawn into it. But this is a great design.
  • The alpaca on this one looks too much like a llama. Will need to be redone to be considered.
  • Yes, the paca is laughing, but you might have to fix the eyes on this one. Otherwise, my wife thought that the paca was actually drunk. But you are on the right track.
