Winning design #61 by bysaule, Logo Design for Betzold Organic Farms, Inc. Contest
Gold Medal

designed by bysaule

Project description

Located in South Florida, we are a new certified organic farm using a proprietary high-tech hydroponic hybrid technology growing, initially, organic tomatoes (although I don't think we want to be limited to tomatoes by the logo graphic). I'm a former investment banker and we plan to grow rapidly over the next ten years but are very committed to sustainable agriculture and family-style business environment. We hire and train veterans as employees because they have often self-selected as being interested in a mission bigger than self--like sustainable agriculture.

  • Thanks for the other fonts. Your original font is actually growing on me. #8 is still the front runner. I'll eliminate some to make viewing easier. Thanks!
    • I changed one more font, please look at it #18. It's very similar to #8 design font. But the letter "G" is nice in the new one.

  • Is there any difference between #6 and this one, #8? I can't see it if there is. I love the graphic now. The only thing that still leaves my nonplussed (as I said in my first comment) is the font. The Betzold looks a little weak and I'm not crazy about the G in ORGANIC either. Can you play with some different fonts for me?
  • I like this one better than the first one. Can you alter the sky such that it is, instead, the curved top of a greenhouse? See the earlier video of what our greenhouses look like. I especially like the "vision" of this design and wonder if you can alter it just slightly to communicate "Organic Enclosed Vegetative Ecosystem." BUT still maintain a limitless horizon, signifying our growth potential?
    • Thanks for feedback. I really appreciate this. I changed the sky into the greenhouse. Now, you can see the greenhouse interior #3. And thanks for that link with the picture how your greenhouse looks like. It really nice greenhouse.

    • This latest version is very close. I'm wondering if you can change the perspective a little to make the greenhouse look like it goes on forever--or at least makes it look like a much bigger greenhouse (trying to convey the idea of growth prospects). I am very surprised that the first design is so good! I think this contest is yours to lose, but I will wait a bit to give you more feedback--letting the other competitors show their stuff! Thanks.

    • I took the liberty of scanning the graphic and writing notes on it toshow you what I mean. Your first design is the best. I'm just wondering if you could adjuct the horizon as I describe here (on both sides though): http://i1360.photobucket.com/albums/r641/Nick_Betzold/AlteredHorizon_zps9c1aff84.jpg

  • Ooops, forgot the link" http://i1360.photobucket.com/albums/r641/Nick_Betzold/BetzoldOrganicProduction1_zpsb9f386f5.jpg
  • Here's a picture that gives some idea of what our greenhouse looks like in production. It's not that I want a literal interpretation, I just don't want something that's inconsistent with reality.
  • This one doesn't fit us. To me it communicates a different type of growing and on a small scale.
  • Very stylish. I like the look although the lower-case lettering and/or font for Betzold underwhelms me. The problem I have--and I'm open to conceptual argument--is that we don't have fields, we have greenhouses. Obviously, the graphic looks like fields. Here's an outdated video done by an earlier investor--our group is younger and the numbers given in this video understate the efficiency of the system. See it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YtvOfE2aHfI I will also try to find some photos of the greenhouses from the last time they were in full production.
  • hey contest holder i submitted my design #22 and i wish you like it any suggestions is appreciated
  • Hi bysaule! I like #30, but could you do the same treatment using the font in #12? Thanx, --N
    • Hello Nick11111. I done all the changes you asked me #33. If you need to change something else, just let me know. I am really happy that you like my design.

    • Thank you, "bysaule!" I extended the sale because I had to fly from the US to Europe. Still getting my jet lag behind me. Will communicate more soon!

  • If you read my earlier comments and try to use similar colors and concepts, you are less likely to change my mind about a couple of designs that are in the lead. It would be much better for you to read everything and then think, "How can I be different that other designs and blow this guy's mind with a better concept?" I'm very impressed with the quality of almost all the submissions, but given your artistry, I think you can dig deeper! Thanx, --N
    • was this comment for #31 and #32. Any thing that you would suggest me to change?

  • #31 and #32 Please have a look at my design proposals. I have provided several exclusive designs that you will not find anywhere else. Let me know if you would like me to add / change anything in the designs or if you would like me to try something different. Remember you can request as many revisions as you need.

  • Hi CH, I submitted #17 for your consideration. If you have any changes you would like to make, or variations you would like to check, please let me know. Thanks!
    • Hi DanaGraphics, I really like your design, but it's not conveying some things I want to convey. If I come up with some sort of organic beauty products, or something more specifically spa related I may get back to you on a derivative of your design. The concepts I'm looking to convey are, on the one hand, the sense of organic (which you did convey with the treatment of the letter B), but also a sense of unlimited growth potential and something a little more masculine. If you have other ideas, I would love to see them!

    • I appreciate you feedback, thank you! I will try to work with your comments and come up with other ideas. Thanks again!

    • I don't know if you can read my other comments, but we are a certified organic hydroponic farm using greenhouses. My earlier comments might be helpful, but, while I am not looking for realism per se, I don't want a logo that communicates we are a traditional farm (with barn and fields, etc.). So not reality, but not inconsistent with reality either. Hope that helps.

    • I submitted #23 and #24 with new concepts, would appreciate your feedback... Would you like a reference to water in your logo? Thanks!

      |--| I think at this point, I'm leaning towards the logo with green and gold colors. I'm not criticizing your efforts, but I can see a whole lotta t-shirts being sold from the entries of bysaule (not that that is our main concern). So I'm still waitingfor something that beats his/her entry. BTW, ally the case, your first design is still the best and I will get back to you if we have a line that could use that "B!"

    • Thank you for your feedback! I'll try to come up with more ideas... It will be really cool if you'll find something that can use the B.. Thank you for your comments, I really appreciate it...

  • Can you do this same treatment for entries #8 and 18?
    • HEllo, I done all the changes you asked me. You can look at them #48, #49.

  • Hi Nick. Please find my entry #40. Feedback greatly appreciated. Regards SJK
  • Hi nick11111~ I created a couple logos for your consideration that are clean, simple and modern. I chose complimentary/contrasting colors that are fresh and bright. Hope you like the concepts. #51 - features a stylized vegetable (tomato) as the 'o' and has a couple color options. It also works well in 1 color green. #52 - features a plant growing from 'betzold'. Kind regards, PaintedPony
  • I've seen the sun graphic somewhere else and it doesn't communicate high tech edginess/creativity or reflect an image consistent with growth and greenhouses. Looks great--no question--just doesn't fit us. Thanx
  • hi sir..pls. give me a feedback about my design #58.. thank you
  • Hi "byaaule," I think this design will be the winner, but the spacing on the letters looks a little uneven. Do you see what I mean? For instance the t and z seem to be closer together than other letters.
    • Hi Nick. Yes, I can see what you mean. I changed a spacing on the letters. Please, check it #61.

  • Congratulations! I'm not sure how this works, but I know I need copies of this on a plain white background. Is there a name for the font you used?
