SCO

Fantastic results. So many ideas...so many talented artists. It would have taken months for a single graphic artist to put forth this number of proposals. Paul Kasanda CEO L3 Prime Inc.

Winning design #41 by Montong, Logo Design for SCO Contest
Gold Medal

designed by Montong

Project description

This software product produces forecasts for call centers using very detailed second by second analysis of historical data. Customers who switch immediately jump to a higher level of efficiency and greatly reduced wait times. Normally, I don't want the words System Capacity Optimization to appear as logo subtext. Instead, I want the Logo to focus on the initials SCO. If possible, I'd like the logo to suggest "a business turnaround", "breaking through a barrier" or "Take-off".

  • very nice.
    • This does not resemble what #38 belongs to me but why the design was not withdrawn?

  • I'm going to be traveling for the next 3 days so I can't provide much feedback until Late Friday or Early Saturday. pk
  • Really Really nice.
  • Just noticed your 3D edge effect. Sorry I missed it. I did not zoom in the first time I looked. Its nice. Can you try the Yellow/blue Color Palate that I suggested.
  • Very three dimensional. Nice. I'd like to see more from you. The font is very interesting. Please take a look at #35 and #33. #35 has my favorite orientation, size and placement for the vortex. #33 has the right palate and the designer has chosen a font that may appeal more to some of my colleagues. My favorite fonts are #36 and # 35. I've been asking a few designers for 3D Edge treatments. You seem to have those skills. If its possible I'd like the 3D effect to convey an elliptical cross section. So more like a Taurus/doughnut less like a brake rotor profile. If that's too hard, stick with the square cross section and show me what you can do.
  • About #35 Yes, #35 matches www.l3prime.com/sco_montong2.jpg Great. That covers Item 1. There are two more things I'd like to see. That's Items 2 & 3... 2) Try to match the color Palate with this: www.l3prime.com/images/WebSiteHeader.jpg 3) I'm still hoping to see some 3D edge effects around the vortex. Not just a two color transition but some edge treatment. Is this possible? refer to these for interesting edge effects: http://www.designcontest.com/logo-design/speer-wealth-management-inc/entry/46/ http://www.designcontest.com/logo-design/performance-health/entry/196/ Thanks
  • Hi: So a little confusion has been introduced into my feedback. When I changed the score, some old feedback seemed to jump to the top of the thread. The most recent feedback pertaining to item 6 is below. After I repost this I'll reply to # 35 Repost***************** About #6 Try this layout: www.l3prime.com/sco_montong2.jpg 1) with the same colors 2) Try to match the color Palate with this: www.l3prime.com/images/WebSiteHeader.jpg 3) I'm still hoping to see some 3D edge effects around the vortex. • I was thinking with SCO emerging from the vortex instead of part way through. www.l3prime.com/sco_montong.jpg I also like the angle that you have chosen for the vortex in #6. Starting with #6, can you move the vortex left one letter and show me versions with one, two and three vortex waves. Later what I'd really like to see is some detailed texturing like I see in these gold and silver winners: http://www.designcontest.com/logo-design/performance-health/entry/196/ http://www.designcontest.com/logo-design/speer-wealth-management-inc/designer/nightelf082884/ I'd be interested to see how 3 dimensional the vortex waves could be. Here is the image that first got me thinking about emerging through a barrier. http://hqworld.net/gallery/details.php?image_id=22080&sessionid=95fb8f47b76bcef3c43f682d2bbdf3ba I don't want my logo to look like a fighter jet or the image above. I like the shape of your vortex. I'd just like to see it more textured and three dimensional characteristics.

  • Some constructive criticism -- it seems a little hollow for a logo.
  • Interesting Logo. Can you: - flip the yellow circle horizontally using the blue dot as a pivot point - remove the blue dot - complete the circle behind SCO so that SCO looks like it is emerging from the vortex
  • You logo is nice implementation of a swoosh and it matches what I originally asked for. But I'm starting to think more positively about emerging from a vortex. Can you check my latest comments to other designers and see where it takes you.

  • Can you please move SCO further to the right so not so much of the S is cut off.
  • Can we see a second version of this without the arrows please.
  • hallo... CH... Please check my entri # 18 and # 19, Any feedback will be helpful. thanks
  • Interesting approach -- bursting through the O. I'll see what my colleagues think.
  • like this too.
  • Interesting. Can you flip the vortex horizontally so that it wraps the S instead of the O. I'm thinking of SCO leaving the vortex, moving from left to right.
  • This one is cool too. I'll think about it and solicit opinions from my colleagues. One observation is that the C looks like a T when it is connected to the S and disconnected from the O. I think all three need to be connected at the top.
  • Very catchy. I like that the font is customized and nothing like a standard font. The flow from the S to the C is cool. I also like your interpretation of breaking through a barrier. I wish the direction could be reversed but I'm not sure how to do that. Can you play with the positioning and direction so that the S might be emerging from the circles. I'll have more comments for you as I think about it for a day and get input from my colleagues.
    • thank you for the feedback, I have tried to capture your intent to incorporate two design #6 & #7, I hope you give feedback if the new entry I have not approached your liking, thank you very much ....
