ShatterDOC (TM)

Telephone support excellent. Working with designers straight forward. Working with selected designer was a very positive experience. Professional and friendly all around. On-line support even emailed me after local internet went down and broke chat discussion. Couldn't have been better.

Winning design #116 by Fabio Piscicelli, Logo Design for ShatterDOC (TM) Contest
Gold Medal

Project description

ShatterDOC™ is the brand or product name for our PC and smart phone software. ShatterDOC™ is new interpretation of a novel computer system which supports extremely secure store and share of all forms of digital information. The system “shatters” documents into several (5 to 10 typically) “shards” which are stored in different cloud storage accounts. These “shards” can be recovered by persons with copies of the system who have the correct passwords. This allows transmission, storing, and sharing documents with great security. While the current system is quite expensive we have been given permission to develop a simpler, lower cost, version for sale to the general public. Therefore, we are looking for a simple, graphically appealing logo which communicates security, novelty, trust, and digital information (photos, music, video, text, documents, or anything in digital form). The design should be suitable for a variety of uses from letter head to websites to polo shirts. We are looking for a design which is: “Mature” without being stuffy; Traditional without looking old fashioned; Novel without looking trivial; And bold without looking boring or confrontational.

About #6 Hello, please let me know what you think about my proposal. Regards. Erick
  • Hi Mike,Here submitted design #4.Any suggestion/feedback would be appreciated and help me to know your taste. Cheers!
  • Are there any specific colors that identify your companyÉ
    • We have been using a sky blue pallet (see www.shatterdoc.com) based on our use of cloud storage. Bright reds are not desired. Prefer white rather than yellow (although yellow is used on the above website) for inverse text. Black text. Good readability required.

  • Like "blue thing". Do not like brown background. Font is marginally acceptable
    • Here submitted revised logo.Font has changed.I'll happy to hear you again.

  • Hi Ch Have submtted entry #26,hope you like it,, awaiting your feedback.
  • Like concept Don't like brown color. Do like that you provide both black and white backgrounds. Font is very ordinary. Purple color needs to be replaced with a sky friendly blue.

      |--| Thanks for feedback. Going to submitted revised design in place of #7.

  • Hi mike, here's my draft concept proposal: #24, shown in a sample color combination and contrast layouts. A suggested tagline is included. I'm ready for your feedback and requests for changes and adjustments.
  • liked by 1/3 of staff. Comments: Positives include 1) clearly shows the name, 2) visually indicate what we do, and 3) has a badge-like design suggesting security. For negatives, 1) don't like the color, red seems scary (Mike5 comment: red is not acceptable), 2) not the best font, and 3) the badge above the letters may cause problems for using it in GUIs.
    • Thanks for the feedback. I have made revisions based on your feedback. Please see #23. Any additional feedback is appreciated. Thanks again.

  • Graphic sizing now working - ??? Team will now review...
  • Struggling with what to suggest. Color pallet completely wrong. Sky colors, blues, grays, white required. Red can not be used.

  • Like use of grayed enlargement. Like color pallet. Can see where you're going with graphic but it is a miss for us. Thanks.
  • Liked presenting idea on black and white backgrounds. Some of us (Mike5) lived the puzzle. Two others didn't. One reviewer stated that puzzle is over used thus generic (Weight Watchers used it). I still like it in your design. Outlining on :Shatter may be too thick. Shatter should be Capitalized.
  • This design created a lot of discussion. Consensus is that graphic overwhelms text - in a bad way. Don't care for brown color in graphic. Do like presentation on shirt helped us realize why some folks didn't like design.
  • Generic. Doesn't image product concept. Nice font selection tho.
  • Can not rate. There is a problem with the popup view so we can't see the detail. Clicking on the image creates a web page image which is too large to display within FireFox. It looks interesting but must be scaled down to be properly displayed.
  • Clever but a miss for us.
  • OK Doesn't wow but solid, simple, straightforward. Don't like square colors but do look like "documents". Incompletely represents product idea.
