Winning design #21 by Fabio Piscicelli, Logo Design for The Light for Sight Project logo Contest
Gold Medal

designed by Fabio Piscicelli

Project description

"The Light for Sight Project" logo will be featured on candles that will be sold to raise money for life changing eye surgeries around the world. Would like the logo to communicate the mission, and incorporate aspects of sight or vision somehow, e.g. maybe a flame over the i in Light? Open to different color ideas; the candles are cream-colored in a glass jar inside a light brown box. Candles have a wooden wick if that helps.

  • Hi Michelle, here's my draft concept: #11. The font is minimal but definite, arranged within an airy and flowing layout that's simple, legible and highly applicable. The complementing image is a fusion between the silhouettes of a candle's flame and an open eye, incorporating both main elements of your initiative in a single, immediate and tactful icon. The sample color scheme uses a warm brown and a golden yellow to match the candle and its packaging, but it can be adapted to your taste and reproduced in solid contrast colors. An approximate logo application preview is also shown. I'm ready for your feedback and requests for modifications.

      |--| Thank you, Fabio. We really appreciate the flame/open eye icon you created. Well done! We'd just like to see two minor changes: 1. Make "For" lowercase and smaller 2. Capitalize "project" and make the word bigger

    • I'm glad you like the design and it's great to have been picked, as it's an honor to be involved in such a worthy cause. Here's a new set of revised versions with your requested changes applied in a few possible variations. #16: "for" + "PROJECT", set to align within the "g" and "t" of "Sight" #17: a variation of #16 with an accent bar to stabilize the space weight between "Sight" and "PROJECT", either in all golden yellow as shown or gradient. #19: a variation of #16 with a slightly smaller "PROJECT" which is set closer to "Sight" and extended past the "t". (Alternatively, "Sight" itself could be made in all caps to have less offset between the text and "PROJECT"). Let me know which version(s) you like to optimize the most and/or if you'd like further adjustments.

      |--| Hi Fabio, I like #19 the best, although my instructions were not clear. I originally intended for only the "P" in "Project" to be capitalized. Can I see one version with it like that to see how it compares to the all caps version? Thank you!

    • Gotcha, I'll prepare it now. ____________________________ Here's the revised version with a "Project" bottom line: #21. Tell me if you like where it's positioned or if you'd like it a little lower.

      |--| I think #21 is perfect! Let me confirm with my partner first though. Thank you, Fabio.

    • Great, and you're most welcome; I'll be on standby until your next memo. Also, I'd like to extend my contribution to this project; tell me how I can donate to the fund, whether by purchase of a candle or not.

      |--| Sorry for the delay; I was out of town last week. As expected, she loved #21 too. We have officially declared your design the winner. Please email the design files to michelle@celeslies.com Regarding how you can contribute, we really appreciate that! We're still in the early stages of program development and don't yet have a product to sell. However, once we get there I will absolutely reach out to you to provide you a way to contribute if you still wish. Thanks for everything! Michelle

      |--| I just saw that I'm supposed to download the design files from this site. That works, too! :-)

  • We love your design! Adding the logo to the candle was a nice touch as well. We'd like to see two minor changes: 1. Make "For" lowercase and smaller 2. Capitalize "project" and make the word bigger
  • Hello CH, I've just uploaded design #2 let me know if I'm in the right direction and if you want to see any changes or something else, I'm opened to your suggestions. Thanks
  • Hi michelle3, Here is modern logo style. The logo is maked as modern badge with old classic style. The flames looks as they are in a 3D style, the last flame is on mesh process. Around the candle is wooden style-the cream color and light wood color-but I am open for change! #22 and #23 Here is how it looks, hope You like this as modern badge, but I am open for other ideas! Cheers, krisdesign
