Project description

We need to have a new microsite for a contest we are holding. The new site should be very simple and easy to read, yet have style to it as we are a Web software company. The colors of the new site should include, but are not limited to, the corporate colors which can be found on the PaperThin website www.paperthin.com. Visual elements should be limited to design only. For an example of what we are looking for, go to www.grantastic.org Note: we do not want our site to look exactly like this one. This should just give you a general idea of what we are looking for. Our goal for the main page of the site is to communicate contest rules and regulations, and to direct potential entrants to any number of the following pages: 1) Apply, 2) View Entries, 3) Vote for Finalists, 4) About PaperThin. Entrants will be entering essays and/or videos describing why their organization should be considered to win two free years of our product CommonSpot OnDemand to manage their website. We require two page designs. One for the home page, and another that will be used for sub pages (Apply, View Entries, Vote for Finalists, About PaperThin). Both pages must be designed to receive payment. ========== HOME PAGE: Must have the following copy: Win two FREE years of CommonSpot OnDemand plus a $10,000 allowance for PaperThin Services and Training. It must prominently draw attention to the subsite pages. It must include the PaperThin logo, and should not include any flash. -- SUBSITES: Apply: Title copy Entry form Submit PaperThin logo View Entries: Title copy: Entrants: Name of Company entering, plus if essay show first paragraph only with link to rest. If video show thumbnail of video submission. PaperThin logo Vote for Finalists: Title copy 3 Entrants: Name of Company entering, plus if essay show first paragraph only with link to rest. If video show thumbnail of video submission. Vote button PaperThin logo About PaperThin Copy PaperThin logo. Ph: 617.471.4440. www.paperthin.com www.twitter.com/commonspot

  • Forgot to say: The layout's content area is set to 960px. The page height - with the rules text in place - means that the proportions don't match the preview dimensions which are restricted to 640x480 px.
  • Hi CH, This is the contest Home page. A subpage design will be added shortly. I wasn't entirely sure if anything other than the footer should actually go below the 4 navigation spots. I added a Rules block just to show how that might look. Feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
  • #1 My entry for the home page. I wasn't sure how simple you wanted, so I decided to go with the bare minimum as a start. You mentioned that you wanted both pages to receive payment. Could you elaborate? I added a shopping cart icon in the upper right corner, but I wasn't sure if that's what you had in mind. #2 A design for the Entries subpage. Also very simple design.
  • Sorry, formatting seems to be off and I'm having trouble understanding the last part of the paragraph. "SUBSITES: Apply: Title copy Entry form Submit PaperThin logo View Entries: Title copy: Entrants: Name of Company entering, plus if essay show first paragraph only with link to rest. Ph: 617.471.4440. www.paperthin.com www.twitter.com/commonspot" You mentioned that two designs will be submitted. One for the Home page and one for the subsites. But you also included criterion for the subsites. Does this mean you're actually looking for 5 designs? 1 - Home Page 1 - Apply form 1 - View Entries 1 - Vote for finalists 1 - About Paper Thin Thanks for clearing this up. Looking forward to participating in this contest.

  • Dear CH, Please check my new design in full view. Your comments are appreciated. Thank you.
  • About #11 The image shrinks the page's size down, that is why the buttons are not in one line. I tried to keep the design similar to www.paperthin.com. Hope you like it.
  • Dear CH, Please check out the new version of the design. Let me know if you want me to make any corrections. Thank you.
  • #7 Hi there, I hope you like the design concept. I wanted to keep it fresh and clean, easy to follow. The plan for the site is basically one single page that scrolls down and up to the next pages. You can see the arrows that can be pressed to jump down to the next area, or you can click the links above, either way, the site continues with a natural flow. The idea with the links and the copyright info is that these are the top and bottom borders and they would simply follow along as you move down and up the page. Please inform me of any questions or concerns so that I may address them. best, Hector
  • The part that describes the subsite pages is a bit confusing.
  • I will work on some great ideas for you !! :)
  • Your design is a copy of a design found here http://www.grantastic.org/ infraction for http://www.designcontest.com/website-design/web-content-management-firm-needs-contest-website-design/entry/5/report
  • Sorry for 'About us' Color is Black. it's White.
  • Dear CH, Please let me know whether I am going in the right direction. The last part of the brief (which is mentioned in this thread) is a bit confusing. Please clarify it for us. Thank you.
  • Thanks very much for submitting your design. We like it, but others align better with what we are looking for. Again, many thanks!
  • Thanks for submitting your nice design. We like it but other align better with what we are looking for. Again, many thanks!
  • Thank you so much for submitting a Web design. I like your design very much, however some of the others better align with what we are looking for. Kind regards, PaperThin.
  • Greetings Ch, I hope you like my design #22 . There are much more details in the background and in the eye-catching golden buttons and text at higher resolution. Let me notice that this idea is only for the Home page. Subpages will be displayed with smaller header. Thank you for your attention.
  • Ch please check my design #21 i had shown paper theme inside which i have shown test in writing form i hope you will like it Thanks
  • Thank you very much for your submission. I like the design but some of the other designs are more in aligment with what we are looking for.
