Project description

Draft for WEBSITE Design Competition Page:

We are a property development company based in London, our business is young, fresh and cutting edge! Despite being a new entity and business (brand) we have many years of experience which will be put into this company. Our experience encompasses working in many countries across the world, developing and delivering high-end REAL ESTATE products. It is a young company but a dream team of leading professionals that have put this company together!

Our business manages the entire process of the property development cycle;

1) We put together the funding to buy development sites or projects. Privately or through our contacts of investors.

2) We acquire planning and work closely with the architects to design the best scheme available for the chosen market.

3) We design and implement all the branding and marketing collateral.

4) We finish each with bespoke interior design packages.

4) We market and sell the products.

5) We achieve a return on investment for our investors.

Our reputation and image is incredibly important to us. As you will see from our logo design which speaks volumes with it’s simple and clean design. It’s understated, classy and confident! So should this website be.

What we want from the website:

IMPORTANT: WE DO NOT WANT A STANDARD GENERIC PROPERTY WEBSITE. The winner of this competition will think outside the box and create something that is different to your conventional property development website. Yes, we need elements that associate us with property, but equally a large part of what we do is putting together deals and achieving strong returns for our investors so a fund/private equity feel may creep in?

Equally, we are a young company, ambitious and confident (possibly slightly arrogant) of our abilities. We want this to creep into the design. We also want cool design features to be incorporated to give it a really slick feel;

- These may be sketch style drawings, urban dictionary type focusing on words that sum us up etc… etc… we will let you imagine this bit.

- We want it to work on mobile. But equally the desktop computer/tablet is the most important place for it to work.

- We would like to consider a cool map element for ‘Our experience’ page where perhaps it is possible to hover over ‘dots’ on the map and see a small summary of what we have done in that country. Countries we have worked in include (Brazil, France, Morocco, Portugal, England....)

Less is often more for us!

The Layout:

It may be that we don’t have conventional pages in our layout. See these examples:

This is subject to change, however key elements for the site may include:

Page 1:

This needs to be the first page the visitor sees. We want it to be very brand focused. It may even be just the logo, it may have some text. Feel free to develop an intro for the logo for example. It’s also very important that there is a cool, slick and seamless transition between this page and the rest of the site. Is it a one page scroll website, or will it have many different pages? Please get creative here… think outside the box, it does not need to be conventional!

Page 2:

A who we are / about us page / what we’ve done. Again it may be an idea to include a cool function such as a map etc… where the user can scroll over the locations we have worked on. This will be more on our experience. This may include images of the main board of directors and team as well. Again, less is more here. It’s all about the design and how the key info is presented.

Page 3:

What we do. This should have an outline on what the company does. We thought again, this would be good to have some sort of cool design element… Perhaps like Urban dictionary, or a mind map with graphics which feeds off core words that epitomise our business. We don’t just want a boring piece of text… Maybe some building blocks, spider diagram etc…. again these are examples and we will leave it to you to come up with good ideas.

It would be good to have some way of incorporating our core business activities, maybe in a flow chart.  Or even a life cycle as this is essentially what it is? Again ideas on how to do this cleverly would be great…

*Please do not feel too limited by the design. The design has to of course be functional but I imagine we will employ a top coder to bring it to life*

Examples of sites we like:

http://neonadventures.com

Great layout, fun and professional site with very cool design elements in it. Also like how the layout is different to a standard site. We also like the language used in the text… cool, funny and a little arrogant.

http://www.alphabetabuilding.com

Very cool website, with some good design elements and functionality. Not your standard property website. Nice how the maps are designed and also the video embedded in it. Would be great to have a similar style of video, graphic in this site. We also like the map and graphics on the ‘Location’ page.

http://aleeforoughi.com

Incredibly cool, out of the box website – we’ve never seen anything like this build within a scroll website and thinks it’s seriously impressive. There are elements of this we need in our site. We are big fans of this!!

http://cyrilmasson.com

Great content and feel to the site. More traditional in it’s aesthetics and format, but slick and professional which we like a great deal.

http://elegantseagulls.com

Although this website has a playful theme throughout it still looks slick and professional. We also like this mix of 3D element’s which give it a unique appearance.
