Project description

We are looking for an engaging, clean book cover design for a new neuroscience research textbook. We are open to a variety of creative/artistic styles and have a broad audience: students, professors, businesspeople, consumers, etc.

The theme of the textbook is that brains "think alike."

This doesn't necessarily have to be incorporated in your design, but it provides additional context:

Brains especially "think alike" (behave similarly) when presented with popular movies, advertisements, music, and other attention-grabbing content.

A lot of our research took place in a movie theater:
moviegoers watched movies while wearing an EEG cap that recorded their brain activity. The neural activity predicted what the moviegoers remembered and purchased in the future.

Thank you for your help!

  • Hello
I’m sorry to be so late but I have just joined the community and I wanted to take part of this amazing contest
I saw all the other very good projects and I tried to do something different, I’d say more subtle and oriented to the content of the book, which as I read in the description is mostly about the common neurological reactions to specific fields communication like cinema and music
I thought about Kant description of common thinking mechanism in his works and about his example of the pink coloured glasses (assuming you were wearing a pair of rose colored glasses everything in your world would appear rose-colored. Now imagine you were born with those glasses and can never take them off. In some sense, the glasses are not part of your sense experience though they do determine what your sense experience will be like, and they are the same for every human being)
Therefore I picked up the 3d glasses as a trait d’union between this knowledge concept and the cinema environment
    I hope you like it

  • Perhaps another version of this could have a soft background of a large brain...like a watermark...instead of the current background (which is also very nice looking). #110

  • About #110, @ptu12 - very nice design! Can we see this without the middle graphic?
  • Please remove the face in the background. #175
  • The gaps between the waves and icons should be consistent. #175
  • Can you make these waves a little "calmer" so they look more like EEG waves? #175
