Just wondering what people here think of Inkscape and whether they frequently use it? I think that for a free open-source application it does it's job very, very well.

I'm an open-source and free software supporter. I didn't try it that much because I entered vector worlds just lately. So, i picked illustrator right away. Because, I had a bad experience with GIMP trying to convince myself that it may cover Photoshop. Nothing compete an open-source OS, but when it came to visuals, they are behind.

I solely use Inkscape (with import into PS for final entries). Since it is the first vector software I learned and is simple to both look at and use, I'm finding switching to Illustrator nearly impossible.

I must try it. Sadly, I switched back from Ubuntu :( to Windozzz for illustrator sake.

Yes it is free. However, there are many limitation in design comparing to other professional programs, such as CorelDraw, Adobe...

I think you mean "to other COMMERCIAL programs". Inkscape is professional.

Inkscape is a professional vector graphics editor for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It's free and open source. But i not used this. I'm not a good artist. So i needed photo to vector convert. Realdraw 5.2 is great. it's not free and open source. Thanks for share.
