Yeah I have around 3 Gig of ram and it uses alot but i have a dual core processor so it's not to bad. - that's probably the only draw backs of any CS3 program especially when you are getting into high res - and alot of layers but the new features are well worth the upgrade in my opinion. - just dont run a million things at once lol.
create this - you mentioned the interface and a few more options not being all not that worth it - i think the few new options and the new interface streamlines Everything and makes workflow alot easier and faster than any previous version. but yeah you are right about the whole money thing - its alot to spend of the cs3 upgrade but it also depends on what you use the software for and how often. for a hobby - stick with cs2 for a job like mine, upgrade! (i get a company discount so the cs3 design premium was alot cheaper - i had to beg my boss but it worked and i talked him into it because i proved to him how much better it is and how much faster i could get things done - hit your boss up if thats what you do for a living and see about that discount (company pays a % of the whole upgrade ect) )
*sorry for getting us all off topic admin!

Yeah i got cs 3 a little while back, I dunno if you want better workflow buy an extra monitor and run dual or triple monitors for a fraction of the cost For a hobby stick with photoshop 7 if your a professional cs-cs3 will work great.
