looks good, I like the color scheme. You did a good job with the header as well, the buttons and logo are really nice looking.
Design with standards.

As a suggestion you should get a foundation of users before trying to sell ad space. From experience I can tell you people simply won't buy ads especially if it shows the small amount of members. Too many empty ad spaces actually can weaken the site from hitting off because regular users see it as a "new site" a site with that no one visits". The site looks great and I'm sure it will be a hit, but building returning visitors is the key to a successful Website, not trying to make money from it before having anything to work with.

That's pretty cool. Tutorial sites are always useful. That's how I first learned Photoshop..:p
