Logo for an italian (Milano) international R&D (innovation) expo. source

Posted Image

This one caught my eye immediatly!
Colourful, transparency overlapping trend, memorable, recognizable ...
Nice use of CMYK palette btw.

This was a design contest winner. Read the story

Not sure about the meaning and its accuracy, even though I like it pretty much.

What do you think?

I agree, it is a nice logo. Fresh and memorable. I definitely prefer this one to the one with the stylised egg. I was wondering if the logo would still hold its own in grey scale though. Or black & white.

Its a great idea to use the contrast of CMYK and transparency. However, its a little bit uncomfy for the eye :)

it looks good and catchy, but as Jaba said, it might not hold its own in grey scale or black and white. its not easy on the eyes (maybe when its printed its more comfortable) and it would not work good for people with color blindness.

Cretainly.
Those are good cons, but they apply to most of current trends as well
.. so ..
why those are appaerntly accepted trends then?

Maybe trends are just fads. ... ?

well at least the current trends don't contain multiple layers of shapes that will be hard too see for those with bad sights. my point is that the logo looks like the color blindness tests. most of the current trends will at least be seen as a shape, but it would be hard to see the expo and the 2015.

that is my opinion :)

It's really creative but as they said before you gotta have a sharp eye.

very clever design, I really like it! I just ask myself a question, as seen in 2015 and segmenting leaving only see within the word EXPO? ... would be interesting to see how it looks.
