The contestholder has every right to eliminate any design they do not like or want. The designer may have a style the ch doesn't like,want or require. The ch is the one paying for the design, they have every right to eliminate a design if they choose to do so. It is no different than if you are working for a client directly in the real world, the client has the say no matter what you like or want, the client is paying for what they want/need/like and/or require in a design.
