I strongly suggest you do the following to protect yourself:
1) Turn hotlinking off
2) Monitor your stats closely - if you see a referring URL that doesn't look right, click on it and they are most likely ripping you.
3) When linking to files on your site - use the full url of the file. This way, when the ripper steals your HTML, the links will link right to your website.
I often find my tutorials ripped and posted on german and norweigan forums (don't know why - but I seem to get alot of these) through my stats.
You should really NOT remove the status bar and right click. There is nothing more frustrating than a website that hijacks my browser.
edit: this is not a contest, therefore I have moved it to the hangout forum.

I think another question you might ask yourself is do you want repeat visitors? Some of the ideas you mentioned may antagonize some and keep them from coming back. I guess it all goes to why you want a website in the first place.maybe your right but im working hard on this layout and its looking good so far i dont want it ripped :-/
For my own preference, I don't put websites that alter my browser in my favorites. Even though I don't rip people off, sometimes I do look at the source files especially if IE alerts me to a bug (which is often). If source files are covered up, I often wonder what the reason is. Does the site contain spyware or adware? There are enough other similar sites for every subject that I don't need to give anyone a second chance. Sorry, but it's the way I feel and I imagine there are others who feel the same way.

If by chance you find someone that has ripped your site - you can report it to them. They will then post it on the front page, ridiculing and humiliating whoever has stolen your website, as well as help you bring it down.
I am a partner myself, and I suggest you become one as well

Well - nobody actually won, but since I highly dislike Parker I will say Patty wins! LOL
