Hey,
I've been working on creating a new portfolio website lately. I'm calling it fluidCORE and I've just finished a polished version of the logo for it. I would really appreciate it if some of you could have a look and let me know what you think of it, the good and the bad. All constructive criticism is welcome. You can have a look at it at:

Thanks a lot!

The Fl looks too much like a H for people who don't know your company will read it Huidcore. And I think the thin and thick contrast may be bigger because the thickness are between the two are not really too big.

Yes, I've got that a lot. The purpose of the "Fl" was to emphasize the fluidity of it, but I guess it's not obvious enough. I'll be doing a new version of the logotype. Thanks for the feedback :)

Yes i agree that it looks and may be confused as a H. maybe using the L as a different color to contrast it from the F, or just redesigning it would work to. But i like the overall theme.

I wouldn't say I read it like an "h" but I definitely cannot recognize the "l" here. It doesn't look like "l" at all to me.
Aside from that, I think you should be consistent with the font for the whole word. I mean if you have started with connected "f" and "l", you should proceed with connected "fluid" letters for the rest of the word ("u", "i", and "d").

i think the "fl" isn´t that good - i wouldn´t see an "l" in it...
also, i think the joints between the "core"-letters are not fluid

otherwise, i like the clean style!

I love the icon you created - very modern/futuristic.

I agree with everyone on the f and the l - a few tweaks should get it, though. I wouldn't completely re-do it.

Just asking this as a design student about to graduate - why are you 'naming' your portfolio?

I have to say that I like the design of your avatar on this site better than the FluidCore logo. The styles seem very different -- have you considered using a similar style for the FluidCore logo?

Overall I think it is a good use of fonts. I thought since the "fl" combo is such an issue, maybe simply keep it two separate letters. Perhaps the "f" and the "l" could be separated in a way that mimics the red shapes you have in the logo-- kind of an oil/water thing going on.

honestly, i read "fluidcore" the first and second and third time. people aren't going to be studying your logo for 5 minutes straight. after staring at anything for a period, you'll start to see different shapes, letters, lines, ect.

Have you considered running all of the font weights and cases the same? I just feel like the logo is very right heavy.. Might need to balance a smidge more.

I was just going to suggest this...at least decrease the thickness of the red shapes

must admit though it looks like I've see this logo before

I noticed you were trying to differentiate the "fluid" from the "core" by making the core a bit bolder, and I think I might be seeing a drop shadow there too? Maybe? (Not sure on that.) But, I personally, might think about finding another color for one or the other to show a separation, or take one half to a lighter level, instead. At first, I thought you forgot to bold the first half and then I realized what you were actually doing. Just my opinion, other than that I like it. The "fl", I have to agree with all on that.

Nice work!

Very nice logo, I especially like the type style of the word "core" and the colors are perfect! Very sleek and eye appealing logo.
I do see where one could get the "L" misread, not sure just yet how you could correct that.
