I saw somebody making signatures with photoshop. I liked it so i tryed it to.. The first month it was crap. But how more i was practising how better it got.

I have always been into art, never into computers. They weren't very big when I was in HS. (I took typing on an actual typewriter!!! LOL). I did lots of drawing, crafts and other things all of my life. I was 22 when I recieved my first computer and it wasn't until 3 1/2 years ago that I accidentally stumbled upon this program called Micorgrafx Windows Draw 6. And since then I have really been into graphic design, being self taught and learning more every day. I still use Draw and Picture Publisher 8...I am having a hard time parting with it to get a little more 'up to date', truthfully. I am 31 years old and looking into going back to college for graphic design. Actually I am going to take courses online and looking forward to learning more!!!

I too took only typing (on an actual typewriter) when I was in high school, and am amazed at how much the younger kids are learning on computers these days. I originally went to an art school right out of high school, majoring in Visual Arts - not switching over to the computer as a medium until about 3 years ago.
I completely an entirely online degree in Information Technology, with a minor in Visual Communications this past May (and yes, i'm 32) and couldn't be happier with my decision. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner as I love the ability to work from home.
NewmanNut: just let me know if you have any questions about online degrees/courses - i'd be more than willing to let you know of my experience and where to get started

Thanks Jenn. There are a few 'schools' I have reasearched so far. One is the Art Institute online and the other is AIU online. Both of them are incredible, but yet, incredibly expensive for me right now. Others I have looked at are: Adobe Online Training, while this doesn't provide me with any sort of degree, it may be good for a start. Another is Sessions.edu. I haven't fully looked over their site yet, so I don't have much to say there. The last one I am considering is Thomson Education Direct. It is a four course class with some kind of assosicates degree. It is expensive, but not nearly as much as the others. That is where I am right now!!

I started when I was seven years old - some stupid stuff in...what's that program called...where you could make cards and stuff...print shop or something like that. Then I started getting into real coding (no WYSIWYG stuff) and went from there.

I got into this website stuff way back in 7 years ago. But I seriously started designing like 3 years ago. I have seen many young designers that have just absolutely amazing portfolio.

I can remember WAY back in the day when my sister was playing with Strawberry Shortcake dolls (yeah, I'm that old), I used to design houses for them for her to play in. So I guess that would put me around seven or eight when I started.

I started designing web pages when I was 20. Taught myself HTML by right clicking and viewing the source on web pages. Pissed around with HTML and Java Script for awhile. Went to college and got an Associates Degree in Digital Imaging & Design.
I started designing when I was 7 or 8. Started by painting cars with my dad .. Airbrushing and Pinstriping. I designed my first company logo when I was 9 for Ace High Roofing. I spent my summers walking around the neighborhood with my older brother and cousin, sitting on curbs and drawing peoples cars, trucks, houses and boats. By the 5th grade I was drawing charicatures for $20/each. Unfortunately, as I got older my interest changed and my illustration skills have gone downhill somewhat.
BTW .. I'll be 29 on 2/21/05

I started designing when i was about 11-12 so about 2-3 years ago. Somewhere around there. Took a couple huge brakes in the whole time period, i just started designing and getting into it alot more about 3 months ago. ill be 15 in july 3rd =)

Started basic designing when i was 16/17. I was more into photography at that stage though.
