Here is something a little different from the great Monster Contest theme's we've been having.

With this community contest we wanted to bring everyone a real life type of Logo contest for some good practice and for those that aren't apart of the Elite team yet to show some off their skills.

BUT I wanted this to be just a bit different I want you take the approach that you are in that time frame (late 1800's) where you don't have the comforts of the computer. I'd like to see what you can all draw up then take it to the next level.
Just so you don't waist your entries you can show the "ruff" draft along with your vector version in one post. This is not maditory but you'll get bonus points from me if you actuall draw it out first. ;)
If your like me you'll usually start with a sketch first anyway then try and find a font that looks as close as possible or just make your own letters.

We'll play with this concept and see how participation is and if this format will continue on a regular-esc basis.

good luck to all ;)

I'm submitting my entry by post. It'll be there in 6 - 8 weeks.

hey, Jecrt, you know we are on a tight schedule - the store should have been opened hundred years ago! You should at least use pigeon post!

Already submitted a concept :)

P.S. I noticed that allot of the past contests had several people that deviated from the guidelines of the contests & still qualified to be judged as a winner, are deviations still allowed or will submissions that deviate be deleted as an attempt to teach designers how to follow guidelines?

Just curious, as I think it's more beneficial for new designers to learn how to follow a clients project brief (Unless deviation / no restrictions on designs creative realm is requested). :)

good question.
I'm not going to not allow any entries. But when I give my feedback I'll be upfront and honest. If it's and extreme deviation from the guidelines then it'll be deleated.. I gratefull you posted the ruff draft of what you were thinking of doing, gave me a good example to refer to. :)

I will say this if anyone is going to get my vote it will most likely have the ruff draft w/ it in some way.

I'd like to thank everyone that's posted their concepts up so far. The turn out has been great so far, for just being a few days old.

Keep up the great work everyone.
