I'd like to know a little bit about the company, it's difficult to tell what it is from the logo... clicking through the link, it appears to be a forum for parents of boys? i may be way off...

regarding the logo itself, the first thing I noticed is that the colors are alternating for each letter, except that you repeat the blue in the S and in the O, which seems a little odd. Was there a reason for this? It might flow more naturally if you continue the alternating blue and red colors that you started with. OR, make "talk" all in one color and "sons" all in another color (I'm not a fan of alternating colors in a word, but that's just me)

Also, some of your letters are very close, almost touching, while others have more space between them, you may want to tinker with the kerning a bit.

I like how you've incorporated the face into the S, but I feel a little uncomfortable with the arm of the "K" pointing right into his face...

Lastly, I think the colors are a little bit dull, but that might have been the direction you chose on purpose and it isn't too bad.

You've got some good elements, and I like your font choice. i think with a little bit more tweaking you could have something great :)

Thanks for sharing!
:) Brandy

hi thanks for the fast reply.
yes it is a discussion forum for parents of boys.
no reason for the alternating colors. i was kind of hoping for some help on the colors actually.
i will distribute the letters evenly. thanks for that. good call.
where should i move the letters so the 'k' isnt in his face?
im not a fan of 'hard colors' i like pastels and soft colors. if you could recommend variations of two colors im open.

thanks so much for that.

For inspiration choosing colors, you may want to try this link: Color Scheme Designer 3

Complimentary colors are typically opposite from each other on the color wheel, i.e. red/green, blue/orange, purple/yellow... on this site, you can select a color and it will show you variations of that color (pastel versions) as well as the complimentary color choices... I find it helpful when I'm having diffuculty choosing colors. I still think instead of alternating the colors, you might try doing the two words in separate colors, but keeping them together as one word (does that make sense?)

I often forget about kerning, too... a lot of us do that! I need to post a big sign on my computer screen as a reminder :)

I'm not sure where to move the letters... I feel like the face should be facing to the right (subconsciously looking forward) but I don't know how you could accomplish that while maintaining the integration in the letter S... you'll just have to play around with it.. but at the same time, it may not bother anyone besides me, and I don't like suggesting to people to change their design!

You're welcome for the feedback, and I'd love to see your revisions if you'll post them!

Thanks!
:) Brandy

thanks for the link.
its been bookmarked.
what do you think of the kerning here?
i could move the face to the bottom of the s but im not sure that would look right. if the whole face thing isnt working, im open to a new concept. this is all i can really think of.

ok here we go

P.S.
i honestly dont know what font to use for the slogan so i left it out

Hi, good start :)

I agree with Brandy that the letters need a little more space in between each other. The newest version it looks like the letters are not aligned in a straight line when I look at the bottom of the letters. I like the new added orange in the color scheme and the separation of the words helps keep the "k" from kicking the kid in the face :p The only other thing is the boys face seems a little bold compared to the other colors in the logo, maybe a lighter grey or brown maybe? For fonts, I usually make a copy of the logo by grouping the layers and option dragging it and I make several copies and change the fonts on each one and then I can compare them right next to each other and then eliminate ones that don't work. Hope this helps!:)

for the tagline, try using the same font, in italics, or a different weight so that it stands out, much smaller than the logo, and make it the same color as the boys face so that it ties all three colors together?

I really like the orange/blue color combination!

The improvements are good.
Just a couple things that popped out at me..
The S witht the face would look better if it matched the thickness of the rest of the letters. mainly the bottom (blue) portion. I'd also like to see it squared off similar to the ending 's'. I wouldn't do a permanent change, just see what it'd look like.

Also the N in sons appears to tapper off at the top left. Not sure if it's my eye's/computer messing with me though. No other letters appear to have this.

Have you tried placing Talk over the word sons? like have the S in son's start under the A in talk. that might help the K not be so obtrusive to the face in sons.

this is a little nit picky but it might help the overall look, which I like.
Keep the orange and blue colors I think it fits nicely. They are still manly colors even though they are in a feminine form(pastel).

Have you tried the face and the word sons in all one color? maybe show us a black and white as well. ;)
