Hello,

It’s kind of not fair to not participate in contests because I’m not an Elite Designer =) , I know it’s the Site Rules, and I believe that’s made to Deliver to the Contest Holder a professional Project. However, I would like to Suggest Something, a Group of users Lets Say Elite Beginners Just like the Elite Designer group Providing a Portfolio but without the voting system and the others requirement, once the Portfolio approved he become an Elite Beginner till he/she Promote to an Elite Designer.

Question: What if the Contest Holder chooses the design of (The Beginner Elite Designer)
My Answer: his/her Prize will be a Donate to the site

I just Love the Participate idea and the challenge thing, that what encourage me from the beginning to join this Great Community. Please do not ignore this request and just think about it, you would make others so happy if you let them Participate in a Real Contest with Other Elite Designer.

At the end, it’s Just my own Suggestion =)

Regards,
-Amr

Currently you can participate in Community Contests these are not paid and are created by the DC staff. Please see link in my signature.

Also DC has just started an "open" contest for all of the DC community. right now it's in it's trial stage to see how it works out.
you can read more about it here. http://www.designcon...d-contests.html
Here is the actual contest. DesignContest.net | Logo for "Save on Soap" company

EDIT: looks like Resurepus was filling you in as I was typing. LOL

Also moved this out of Community contests section.

Well My mistake I did not read all the site contents lol, but does that cover the "Web & Flash Design Design Team Members Only!" :D

I'm a web designer and i want to design sites and the idea was to participate with the elite designers, thats why i suggest a new group called "Beginner Elite Designer" which are equal with the elite designers except the difference the way that the contest Holder will look at the Elite Designers and Beginners, If you know what i mean xD

And to avoid lots of bad designs from any newbie, you will make a requirement for this group just pass the Portfolio review.

I got refused to become an elite designer I believe because i wasn't active for like 4 years lol i joined since 2006 and stopped.

Thats it xD

I just got an email today addressing this very issue, and I've submitted my first logo for this site...for GarageQueenTV.com

I think this is a great opportunity, and am thankful for it as I work my way up to the Design Team & beyond!

I know it is frustrating. I've been to another website similar to this one and you should see some of the stuff on that one. By showing designs done by someone who thinks they are a designer just because they have a computer and Creative Suite doesn't translate well in trying to look like a professional who can execute great designs over and over, which that website does. Good designers go to school, not just learn on the fly. I am not saying that you are like this, but think about this concept from this website's perspective.

I see where you are going.. But I am not sure that is what design contest is based around. You are always welcome to do charity work in those forums (which are never that active.. dont get me wrong)

But you can learn without participating. If you lower the standard of the designers then the prestige of the site goes down as well. We (as a community of DC) should try to find a balance from learning from each other to also being able to hold professional contests.

I think your headed in the right direction... but I am not sure flooding clients with choices is the right way to go either.

Hello, noxieCreative:

Thanks for your Advice, However Participate in a Contest is it self a learning.. when a customer asks for a revision/modification you're figuring out something else or a way to do all what he needs, Then you discover some new skills that you wont aware of it before. This Community called "Design Contest".. So How to learn without a Contest xD

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
@resurepus: Wow how about this Slogan "How to learn without a Contest"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well Flooding the client with choices is like a FREE Huge variety of Choices that Pleases the Customers and its shows a totally different layout than a Designer Company can Give xD its like giving him/her a design in a Plate of Gold ;)
