Designs look different after Uploading??

please explain over care?

i simply uploaded a jpeg file and it was ok... i think over care creates the problem...usual formats are enough

well... sounds like you're doing exactly how I do it. Maybe the settings in your export dialogue box need to be adjusted.

I set my exported jpegs at 10 for quality, RGB, screen resolution.

Have you tried adjusting those settings?

Yes,I have done it but sadly it dint work with this design.I wonder how sharie's suggestion works.I don't understand both the softwares are from same company but when export jpeg images they react so differently.I would definitely want to know about this.

But what about your creative freedom.There may be times when your abstract design looks better to your client but isn't compatible with the main application.Its better to know how to deal with such situations while working in a team isn't it.

I'm not sure what over care you are talking about. The logo is required to be created as a vector. To show your logo to the contest holder you need to make it a jpg. Sometimes there are compression issues and that makes the image look funny,bad or different. So simply uploading a jpg isn't so simple, once in awhile you have to find the right recipe

Tanu - there are many different reasons why a client would want their logo in black and white.

• maybe they are printing a 1-color file.
• maybe they want to embroider their logo onto a hat or shirt using just one color thread to save money
• maybe they want to create a vinyl sticker for their vehicle and only want to use one color
• maybe they want to use their logo as a watermark and need it available as a one-color option

there are plenty more situations where a black/white only logo would be needed. Plus, any good logo will work well in black and white, and logos built using vectors (as they should be) are usually easy to convert to one color (black) without difficulty and just a small bit of tweaking.

So if you can't make the logo black and white then maybe look at the design and decide if it is a good design because a good logo will look good in black black and white

I understand your point.What would you choose a design which is cost affective??? say,it has more of those simple looking letters that can be converted easily into b &w outlines or a much more artistic design which looks cool but looks vague in B&w.Clients in DC don't always mention requirements of (B&W) still every canvas keeps space for it. Is it a necessity??

I think I might have one decent solution to this issue... When I first started designing for web, I use to have a problem getting my colors to match up with CSS colors and such.

The answer is very simple, and sometimes I find myself forgetting to have this "option" on when designing and saving. This is really important in order to have your colors show up correctly.

In both Photoshop and Illustrator, simply have the option "VIEW > PROOF SETUP > Monitor RGB" selected while designing and when saving the file. If you change it to this in the middle of a design you will notice most likely your colors will "brighten" and you may have to re-adjust.

This is what I do anyways... It comes through on the output almost identical to what I have on screen.

I dint understand the role of Monitor RGB.what is it for??
After checking I have found that Illustrator Cs3 does not have specifically Monitor RGB option but photoshop does have it .What you meant by changing the setting in the middle of designing??So should I export my design keeping these settings?

Oh I dont have option means that I am not allowed to choose them (as they are grey).These three items monitor RGB, windows RGB and macintosh RGB are not clickable.I could not change the state of any,I dont understand their presence either.

probably you got the solution. But i also faced the same problem sometime ago. And the problem was with image format compatibility with the server.

Hey!

I also had that problem once. The problem is that .jpg format compresses the images and distorts colors, and the solution is to export as .png with 300ppi.
After this, you should have no problem!

For me command "save for Web & Devices" in Photoshop works best
