I just wanted to share one of my favorite artists. I was introduced to some of Chuck Close's work early on in high school. His art takes impressionism, abstract, and realism and bridges them all together.

Love his style, small imperfections to make perfection.

Bet you thought this was a picture.... wrong. All hand crafted.

Close suffered from spinal artery collapse that made him paralyzed from his neck down. But it did not stop him from creating more of his signature portraits. He remained determined to practice painting even if he has to fasten the brush onto his wrist.

his style is always so very amazing to me. When I look at his more "pixelated" paintings I am amazed at his ability to maintain such accuracy despite it's abstract quality.

It is an interesting trend. It inspires me greatly but it is always good to find and see new styles and ways of looking at art.

I was lucky enough to see his work in an exhibition in Seattle, absolutely fantastic stuff. One of my all time favourites : )

and I forgot to add, those paintings are absolutely huge in real life... which makes it more amazing to me how he gets the perspective right. He must have to walk back and walk forward again hundreds of times.
