Well...the "10 posts" thing before submitting a design is just killing me..!!
I think it is a waste of time on the designers' end!

the 10 post rule is for a reason, if you had taken the time to read through our knowledgebase you might understand the 10 post rule. The 10 post rules lets you get to know the site and what we are about, we are not like the other sites. There is a wealth of information at this site. I can't believe making 10 posts is that hard or time consuming.

if you ever want to be on the Elite Design team then your forum participation is what makes the final cut. I'm telling right now members that post these quick just to get it done to post in a contest will never make the team

But when I try to find a thread to post to, most of them are old or are not really discussions. Some are more of a show-off thing or a place where people just say great idea. And anything to do with the site, contest, and winning are all answered and easy to find. I found them all before I ever posted anything.

I don't think you have looked too much if that was all you found.

I agree, the posting rule forces users to read posts they normally wouldn't, very useful for learning about the site and how it works. But some of us are shy and so it can prove more difficult!

So far, this seems like a friendly, supportive place, so no need to be shy! :)

I think the rule is useful because you will learn some things before you jump into a contest without any idea of the concept of this site.

Ah well, the 10 post rule is here to hold the "community" feeling as well I guess? Don't think that's a bad idea... otherwise you get situations that for ex. a guy wins a contest and you've never seen or heard him before? :D

Yeah, maybe it's good you need to go throw post and read them because of "10 post " rule, but maybe not, you just write s..t at least for first ten posts and trash the forum.

WEll , since I like reading the forums of design sites...not that hard.. I find it quite interesting. I will be working on a halloween design tomorrow I will probably be thinking about it when i go to bed... I always get my best ideas right as I get into bed or driving which ever. But I always try to keep the two separate. :D

What I can say after my own experience here trying to achieve 10 posts is It did worth it! I learned about how the things are going in this community, I got inspired, I could see a lot of great works and ... I think it's very useful for everyone to communicate and not just put designs in contest like robots. Otherwise, for the shy guys - guys, I'm shy too and I'm very concerned about my level in english but I keep fighting with it!

Well so far with my experience with this site has been about 50/50. looking at other people works has gotten the competitor side of me to try and out due other designer as well as learning few techniques that I can apply to my work. I think only thing bothering me is little feedback that Im getting from Contest holders but i guess that's normal here as well what i will be facing with companies on a day- to- day bases.
