Is there any news about the logo contest '60 Year Old Company Looking for Logo Re-Brand'?
It's understandable they needed more time with so many logo's. But now there are 'only' 200 entries left and it's over 2 months now.
Can you update me about this contest please?

Thank you

You know what confused me about the decision on this contest? I received an email stating a winner ok and then some week after that I received another email stating another winner. Were there two winners on this contest? Because the emails mentioned two different designers. If that was a glitch then man I hate to be the other guy who was picked by mistake. This was the one contest that all designers wanted to win and man I lost some sleep waiting for the decision until the CH started to eliminate my entries one by one. That really sucked! LOL

hi rizorex, the CH picked the first winner by mistake, i was rated full marks & awarded silver, 2 to 3 hours later, my silver turns into Gold by sharie’s email notification. that cheers me up the whole afternoon :)

Hi SCH, Wow imagine that! You actually won that hefty prize I'm sure that didn't just cheer you up the whole afternoon that would've probably made your entire year huh ... Hehehe well Congratulations my friend even though it's a bit late. Way to go to start 2012 right. It must've felt good kicking everybody's butt including the highest rated designers hahaha and you actually just started with DC probably when you joined the contest yes? That is hilarious, lots of egos were crushed by that contest LOL!!!

hi rizorex, i like your butt kicking post, hahaha:) i won not because of my skill, I’ve seen some amazing designs but many of them were gone beyond the brief of the contest. My design strategic is very close to a classic logo with a bit of a modern twist. just that simple. i was a junior member in the contest but I’m not new in graphic design.

You know I would really hate to be that guy they made the mistake on choosing as first. Imagine the disappointment, I'd be so ecstatic I would've called all my friends and families, broke up with my girlfriend, got a new girlfriend, bought new clothes, a motorcycle, a new laptop, kegs and kegs of beers, yada yada yada ... only to find out a few hours later that my ass is broke and stuck with a huge debt ... LOL ... I'll be seeking revenge against the guy who stole it all from me. I'm gonna be like Gollum, "I'm gonna look for you SCH! Whoever you are, wherever you may be, I'm gonna sell my mother to buy a ticket and go to Malaysia to find you and the precious you stole from Usssss ..." Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw you know what I mean. I don't put out a lot of logo contest entries, I'm not good with logos at all, I just know I am not likely to win. However whatever I suck in logo creation I make up in illustration, but illustration contest are a lot fewer in DC.

The CH took time at no fault for the final decision on a winner, if you would have sold your mother, you could made more money than DC just one time off defiantly. LOL...:). I like to create logo with hidden symbolism, to do that I'll spend time to do the case studies & search for some references The honeyville logo took me hours for the creation. Here is My key word of success: creativity+hard word=money. Not everyone is born a genius. You need sometime to learn the skill to be more competitive with your logo designs. You will make some bucks one day.

This was a tough contest! The difficult issue was taking so to choose a winner, the ch had so many problems.... This was a big part of the problem

1) This is a very old very established company
2) There was about 20 board members that had to agree
3) of these board members half were old school, no computers and felt the logo didn't need to be changed, other half were young eager to refresh and bring logo up to date!
4) The board members locked horns at every meeting about the new design and direction it should go

So you can see why this took so very long. We do not let contests go as long as this did but I was in contact with the ch just about every week on this contest SO I knew it was not an abandoned contest. I knew in the end one designer was going to be extremely happy : )

hi sharie, thank you so much for the information, you are very helpful.
it would be best if you could post it in the comment page in the near future for other contest like this one while we’re still waiting for the result. i did checked it numbers of time before the announcement of a winner, where also other designers. To update the process/outcome of the CH’s decision is important to everyone of us, especially the CH took time for months for the decision to choose a winner.
