How can we see the progress of the blind contests? Once we entered we see only entries we submitted and ratings for them. How can we see the other's ratings and the general progress?

Well... I don't mind not seeing other's rating, but definatelly I don't like that general progress can not been seen... by that I mean directions. That is really up to CH.
Maybe DC could ancourage CH to give more of feedback & directions to designers when it comes to blind contest.

I believe that the hole point of the blind contest is to let designers use thier OWN directions & concepts without being affected by other's style.. sometimes you can't help it being inspired by others specially the ones the CH REALLY like.. & that can produce close concept & may be coping for some.
so to prevent that it's the CH's right to see everybody's own creativity & decide which way to go

& Babba, you are right CHs should really give more effective feedback ESPECIALLY in this kind of contests!

Like an Angel is correct.... the whole purpose of a blind contest is so designers can see "only" their own entries and feedback from the contestholder.

Eximus you were one of the "loudest" designers wanting blind contests....I do not understand why you have problems with them now.

We encourage contestholders to give feedback on the entries, we can't make them, we do help them and guide them but in the end it is up to the ch to give feedback and the kind of feedback they choose.

What is the need to see the general progress of a blind contest...doesn't that defeat the purpose of blind? how would ratings and general progress help you in your designing ?

:)) You can come up with dozen reazons to explain why is something does not work properly. Ha ha.

Yes, by posting my blind entry I would like to see where I'll be standing. Let's say I got 80 rating points. If I see that someone got 85 points I can do smth else in order to improve my entry or introduce smth totally different. And this doesn't defeat the purpose of blind contest. I can't copy or use someone's ideas.

seeing the rating is not important in blind contests. If the ch wants to leave direction to you then they will. The ch chooses blind for a reason. Some don't even rate. SO why not concentrate on the design for the logo instead of worrying about ratings of the other designers entries.

You cried out loud in MANY contests for designcontest to have blind contests. We now have them and you still have something to complain about. The blind contests are working just how they are meant to. They are blind you do not need to see the ratings of the other designs in the blind contest

We always have smth to complain about. It calls a progress. If we don't like smth we change it. At least I'm trying to make DC a better place. I always suggest smth and you, Sharie, always have smth against. The path of less resistance.

Whatever.

I think I understand eximius 's point, I don't have any problem with blind contests, although if I got a design rated 40 and CH wants me to improve my design ... fine, but if at the same time there's a design rated 99 I'd like to know it. I would probably give up the contest because clearly someone came up with something much much better.

@eximius: if you logout and go back to the contest (it's not always possible though .. ) , you'll have the full ranking ..

something similar to this one that concerns on seeing the rating http://www.designcon...html#post156090

Sharie told us that she sent the issues to the programmers, and seeing this thread got me little surprise, I thought they are already fixing the issue so we can see other design ratings.

For us designers seeing the current ratings of the designs is really important, it helps us decide whether we should still go on with the contest.

Anyway other issues/glitches I see in Blind contest.

1. designs referenced by the contest holder inside his public comment are revealed.
see Website Design for IT Services Firm seeks complete redesign of site - DesignContest.com

2. Examples uploaded by the CH cant be seen.

may I also know what is the status to this contest, http://www.designcon...-website-design its been a month and the winning designs aren't revealed yet? I'm just curious, I love vintage websites.
