Consider a legal trademark on your personal / company logo. An expanded exercise as a photographer or designer is to go through the process of legally securing a trademark. There is a bit of research, time and expense involded but the process is very rewarding. Securing a mark provides you with the registered legal right to that image or design. Considering a attorney to prepare the paper work is just one option. Seeking a law student is yet another way. This is fantastic way to help another person gain some confidence in their field ( while you save a little money ). Or lastly ... go on line or request the forms and complete the paper work yourself. Going through this process adds a degree of maturity to your business skills and raises the bar to help your clients get a much more focused understanding of their investment in their logo and your work.

True. However when you participate in a contest, I heard you share your rights with the company holding the contest. Maybe I am wrong.
Ecuador is a paradise of contradictions.:D

The thoughts about marking your work was offered more as a exercise to any designer or photographer. It is an extension of the craft. If you have never marked a design, image or text ... most will find the process very interesting. It is very rewarding to know you have completed the cycle and you are the registered owner. My personal experience was for my own personal mark ... both on a designs and an images. How each company or client choices to address the mark process is different. I offer that as an additional service and use a second year law student for prepare the documents. WIth regard to how it works with Design Contest ... well, back to the rules and regulations, terms and conditions ... like many, we never stop learning.
