As you may know the leader of Communist Revolution in Russia and the first Soviet dictator was not burried like normal people, but was mummified and put for public display into the mausoleum in the Red Square - the very heart of Moscow.

I believe that this icon of Communism (nor anybody else) does not deserve to occupy such a place. Lenin's embalmed corpse should be removed from Red Square and his mausoleum replaced with a memorial to victims of Soviet repression. Well, just to clean the Red Square of the dead body should be enough.

So, here is a challenge to put your thoughts on this issue together and make a postcard to be sent to Lenin himself.

This contest will be open for 1 month.

The best postcard will be printed out (if the resolution permits and the artist doesn't mind) and will be sent to:

Vladimir Lenin
Mausoleum, Red Square
Moscow, 000001
Russia

if you make a quick search in google you will find tons of Lenin's images

even though the subject is quite serious, I encourage to take this contest with a sense of humour.

Well I learned few things on this thread :)

1- Lenin is mummified and can be seen in mausoleum in the Red Square.
2- Sergey hates Lenin. :)
3- Lenin's frist name is Vladimir.

I think I'll pass on this one! It seems kinda too political for my taste. And it's a subject I don't know enough about to form a strong opinion.

P.S. Sergey, have you tried www.petitiononline.com?

No, I haven't tried petitononline.com as I am not that much into politics. And besides I don't really believe that Lenin will be burried. I did realize that you, guys, might not know that much about Russia's history, but I was hoping that a dead body of a world known dictator put for public display might bother some of you. It's not about politics, it is not about communism or its victims, it is about common sense and understanding what is right and what is not. It's not that I call everybody to march in the streets with banners and burn red Soviet flags. I was just hoping that this subject might give a creative impulse to some fun work :)

P.S. and, no. I do not hate Lenin. I hate what he did, but I don't care about him as a person.

P.P.S. Even though this contest comes out as a failure, the only fact that you guys will learn some interesting new information makes me think I have not posted in vain :)

Hi Sergey,

I know Russian history quite well (I find it to be quite interesting!).

I think this topic is a bit too political for a contest, but it is an interesting topic, and I think it would be great if you could post some more information for everybody about Lenin and possible some pre-Lenin history (maybe post this in The Hangout).
