Good idea. DC might already send notifications to CH? I know some CH wait a while to rate designs until they get quite a few entries for comparison so they can see what they like/don't like. Some CH admit they will wait to rate entries to avoid 'copy cat contests' where designers all start doing variations of the top rated design(s).
Of course it benefits everyone involved if CH is active and rates and gives feedback and comments. Some CH are great and are very involved and some CH never rate. I think most designers will gravitate to an active contest.

We do send auto notices to the contest holder. Once the contest goes to expired mode/deadline...an auto notice is sent out once a week containing all the information the contestholder needs and links to help guides as well.
An auto email is sent out when a contest is started as well my phone calls.
Contestholders have a special section in the knowledgebase with many helpful guides as to how to run a contest, including feedback, rating how to choose a winner ect....

Another idea that their a Gauge for the activity of CH in comments and rating designs to be activator for designers to add a design as a lot of CH holders not entered and rating any designs for a week and so that after period finished CH extend the time again.

Most websites similar to this one require the CH to pay on the front end so that they are more compelled to choose a winner and rate the submissions. From what I've seen this tends to work quite well. If they know they are paying the prize money up front then they will follow the submissions and provide necessary feedback and/or contest extensions so that they get exactly what they want. No one would just throw money away.
This method is a win/win in my opinion. Thoughts?

Like I have said in a lot of post on here about this same subject that keeps popping up.........there just need to be a easier way for a ch to give feedback and rate the designs. I know that I have discussed this with other DC design members in another thread about a system that allows the ch to have a drop down box underneath the design. That they can only see and it would have pre set info and one spot that has a custom text spot that gives the rating of the design and a feedback of the design all in one. Now once they give the rating and feedback that designer only would be able to see it. And they would get a email notify of the rating. I think that this would help and it would make it easier for the ch so they don't have to go back and fourth to leave a comment and the back to rate the design.
