Just like candyfloss said Just click the stroke tab and then there is different options in there for you to change you stroke however you want. There is also a tool that you can use to change the width of your stroke.....it depends on what version you have. I know it's in CS5 and CS6.....just look up Width Tool in your search. But it's located with your twirl tool, pucker tool.......I think you can hold "Shift+W" to open the tool.

I use cs4 and if you click on the stroke look up top (or how you have your AI set up) see attached
This is what makes the learning curve complicated but fun with adobe products. You can do the same thing many ways.

dont use stroke... lmao.. offset path is better and cleaner option...
There's no difference between stoke and offset path. At least with stroke you can change it anytime without having to go back and redo the steps. They both have their uses but I wouldn't say one is better than the other... depends on your workflow
