To create a Dreamweaver template from an existing document do the following:
1.First you need to open the document that you will be saving as a template.
2.Select File -> Save As Template.
3.Go to Insert panel-> common category and click on the ‘Templates’ button, and from the pop up window select Make Template.
4.You will get a warning message that the document you are saving has no editable regions. Just click OK to continue.
5.Select where the template should be saved, and name the template in the ‘Save As’ box and SAVE.
