My first attempts

Hi, I'm new! I experiment with graphic design as more of a hobby than in my day job, so I thought I might try a contest. Here's my first efforts. Let me know if you think they are a bit overworked? Unfortunately I've already made a rookie mistake and uploaded my images to the contest with massive dimensions. Anyway, I'd be grateful for any feedback...

Your first (top) design works better than the second one.

- Try a version of just the letter upsidedown "V" or "A" as the jet/airplane with the gear in the middle
- Try a version with your current design right now as the letter "A"
- Try a version with your letter "C" as the gear showing only half of it to make that curve C
- Try a version, removing that black shadow on the top design and have it the same gradient darkred/red color
- Try a version with "Aircraft Technical Services" all in caps too

Thanks for the feedback! It certainly is a more complex art form than it first appears.

Uhhh I like 2nd logo a lot, not the wordmark (would change that), but pictoral mark - associative, simple, memorable - no doubt what company business is.
I saw some of other works on that contest, there were lot of great ones, but if I were a CH I would go for yours, honestly.

Like the second better. Maybe a stronger font for Aviatech

I too like the second better and would do something with the font.

Maybe a bolder font, slightly smaller and all caps.
