I have a Dell Dimension 9200 with3gb RAM, dual core, etc, etc; XP Pro sp3 (32 bit) and a Radeon X1330/X1550 graphics card as supplied by Dell.

Recently installed Nik Color Efex 4Pro and it does seem to be slow. When I check the program Setup/GPU tab, there is a message that the graphcis card does not meet minimum requirements and the image processing will be done by the CPU rather than the GPU.

Does this mean that the 256mb memory on the card is insufficient and that I should upgrade it to at least 512 or larger?

On the Nik web site, there is no mention of min. graphic card requirements.

Thanks

For today's standards, 256mb of video ram is quite low. I have 1gb and Photoshop still fills it in no time. I'd recommend that you upgrade to at least 1gb, Powercolor 6850 is not very expensive, and gives great bang for the buck. Plus additional ram is always welcome.
You have Intel Core Duo?
