I have a PSD that is 775 pixels across & 950 pixels down…

Recently learned how to export all of the visible layers that I want… And turned those visible layers into their own JPEG files.

Here is my question:

Those newly created JPEG files, they retained the document size of the original PSD.
775 x 950 pixels…

Does document size count, when it comes to loading images on the web?
Or…
Does only the size of the original layer count?

If your trying to reduce the image file size but just keep the image size you should slice the image up with the slice tool. Cause it sounds like your trying to make a banner for a website or something. So just slice it up with the slice tool and then use adobe dreamweaver to help you get it all in the right place.

Or you can just make it the size you want it to be and then put it on a transparent background and then just use css to place it on the banner like you would like. I hope this helps you. I don't know if your making a website but from what I read it sounds like you were trying to so this is what I thought you needed to see to help you out.
