Hi Friends,

How do you feel when a client selects a not so good design even though there are many good options given to him?

I just leave it alone but I sometimes wonder why they choose that design. But like Dinda said it's what the client wants and not what we want.

yea, some time i wonder why in hell that bad generic old design with not oriented font get choosed where there is a good neat designs submitted? i feel sorry about the good designs lost to this contest.
maybe i don't feel angry or sorry about my effort because my designs are not that good. ;)
plus, i don't enter a lot of contests, so usually when the another design get selected it's better than mine.

well, its their choice, I will not feel bad because they are the one looking and paying for the design that catches their interests. It is a challenge for us designers to make the best design for them to select but also to respect the decision of the client. :)

I always feel good for the designer who is winner and I leave the rest because its a client's choice to select the design that completely fits his/her requirements and liking

I don't feel bad, but I do feel a little confused.

I'm passionate about design and naturally dislike seeing something unattractive being used. At the end of the day, it's obviously the clients decision.

Sometimes, the client picks a design that bares no connection to their product at all. They pick that design because it looks better than the others instead, plain and simple. I get confused at first but I decided to just leave it at that since that's the design they prefer to use.

I'll just leave it. If that is what they are looking for then you cant really do anything about it.

You also can argue with the client and persuade them of your skills and why he or she makes the wrong choise. last I had an assignment for designing statues for advertising purpose. At first he didn't like my concept, but I talked to him and now he stand behind my concept for 100%.

I remember early on here, I sent in a logo I was very happy with and took me a while to make perfect. It got rejected fast and something very strange won. I remember being a bit irretated. But that was the first few times. Now Im just thinking: "Huh, really?" and moving on.
