Say you have a simple three pages website: index.html, page1.html and page2.html. To move this simple HTML static website to a wordpress environment you need to do the following:

1.First you need to Install WordPress in the root of your domain
2. Copy the file Index.html to the Wordpress Theme, and rename it to Home.php
(this will make wordpress use home.php page as the default).
3. Leave the permalinks as they are with their default settings.
4 .Copy the contents of page1.html and create another page in WP called page1
5.Copy the contents from your other files and make pages with the same names in WP.
6. Now that you have copied your data, edit the permalink to /%postname%.html
7. For pages that are not not POSTS you have to use plugin because WordPress will only apply your Permalink structures to posts. The plugin WordPress Hero works well for this.
8.Install the Plugin for the pages, then remove the html static pages from your root
9.Copy the contents of the file “index.html” to the new file that will be your home page, and then you can delete the Home.php file.
Your site is now converted !
