I haven't used Corel much but Illustrator seems to be the industry standard so I stick to that.

If I had to choose one program for creating graphics to work with for the rest of my life it would be illustrator any day. And I know a great deal of people that feels the same way. I haven't heard of a single professional that use corel. But I'm sure that corel works ok if you have a great idea and no money for a AI license :-)
