I have been using sxc.hu for years as well, great site!
When I need to find specific images, I then turn to istockphoto or similar sites.

Yes be very careful about reading the rights. Cause if you get caught in a copyright battle you could lose more money than you could ever make. Think about the Shepard Faerie case.

I agree. Istock almost always deliver amazing quality for a very low cost. And if you have a DSLR and take some great photos you can make money there. Like I do :-)
