The ranking process

Are we able to request reviews of our 'rank" status?

If so, can I request one please?

Also, if you're planning on keeping this rank based system (which is in my opinion elitist and "rigged") perhaps you could open it up to a popular vote, where DC members can rank fellow members.

Yes, you can request a review of rank status.

Ranks are based on merit of community involvement, contest involvement and overall attitude on the forums. Very few members are granted the gold or platinum status from the start, as they need to earn this status.

I think this would be much too difficult to co-ordinate. It would need constant moderation, and I don't like the idea of new designers having to put themselves on display for judging (especially if they are just starting out, and not used to criticism yet).

Could be something to implement in the future though.

Well the new system sounds interesting, I'm not sure of the difference between the ranking and the badges though, but I guess we'll just have to see how it goes. I figure the badges will be awarded to multiple contest winners etc, cause if it was just awarded to admins choice the issue of "segregation" comes into play.
