Magically I have been "kicked" from posting in the Design team hangout.

You are showing a great deal of disrespect towards the administration of DC who work for you absolutely free of charge. You also fail to read posts with guidelines and I don't think this kind of behavious is acceptable for a Design Team member. I don't want to go into any kind of dispute, just want to let you know that after one single complain you will be out of the Design Team.

Firstly the admin team never REALLY worked for me.

Once again DC stands behind the "absolutely free of charge" angle which is becoming as tired as the lack of direction and openess of the "community".
I appreciate the "service" DC provides - I believed in it when it started. That's why I signed up.
I would be more willing to contribute to a community that embraced openess, discussion, creativity, friendship, essentially 'community' - the "chat" forums are a reflection of how much this is currently lacking.

So ... I wish all members of Design Contest the very best for the future. DC is not - SIGH of relief from some I am sure - a place that I see as beneficial to myself nor the design industry as whole, nor one where I can waste anymore of my time (or yours).
I fear DC may be failing due to ill-chosen business decisions and an overall lack of direction - "we provide alternatives for people who need design" is simply not a good enough or detailed mantra. Which is both frustrating and saddening to see.

Admin: Leaving this post alive - rather than deleting it - will show you have 'respect' for people with opinions that differ from yours. Deleting it proves how large the cracks in the ethos and ethics of the site, and those who run it, are.
Some of the above words may be harsh sure...deal with it. You have chosen to establish a community, so LISTEN to your townsfolk they are the ones who ultimately make you strong. LISTEN to the praise AND the criticism. I didn't come here to pick holes through you - I simply saw frustrations that I thought I should raise.

Regardless, without further ado Bagginses of the shire ... it is time for me to go.

Goodbye.

Best of luck Paul.

So soon you forget how your suggestion/comments about the design team ranks brought about the decision to abolish the ranks altogether. But I guess we don't listen to our users. *shugs*

That's the type of respect we're after Neupix, well done. very mature.

You and the rest of the admin team weren't willing to discuss the ranking process at the time I raised it. You said it was too hard to implement and that the existing system worked well enough. It's great that I may have had some part in the change, but I was continually told that I was not showing "respect" to the admin team with that sort of questioning ... go figure.

I just get the feeling the admin team are all a bit tired, and insecure (though I'm not sure yet just what you're insecure about).

Thanks for the reply Neupix.

Paul, like I said before, best of luck.

I am not going to get in a shouting match with you over something so trivial.

oh... well. this is exactly what I was talking about. It is disrespectful to post private messages without asking permission from the sender.

Why is it disrespectful? Doesn't quote anyone inparticular. It is what was written, can't change it eh. ;)

Paul,

By all means I don't wan't to become a big part of this argument, but I think that:

If it is the case that you wrote your comments/suggestions in the same cynical manner in which you write these, I'm not surprised at all that you got the type of reaction that you did. Had you practiced effective writing rather than writing based purely on emotion (which is quite evident despite your attempt to mask it) your comments may have, indeed, been taken as friendly suggestions. Had you written about how and why your suggestions would benefit DC then they may have had more weight to them than the outbursts of frustration received by the admins.

As well, I agree with resurepus, to post a private message is Taboo (like reading a secret love letter on a megaphone). I think this thread in itself shows that you need to learn your limits.

Again I appologize for getting mixed up in this, to myself and the others. Since I wish I never looked at this thread I won't be posting again, if you have any questions please PM me, but only if it's something worth saying, please don't send me stuff telling me I'm 'one of them now' or w/e i really don't want to hear that. Thanks
