Paint Shop Pro Material Palette may be confusing, since there are so many different choices available in it. It is one of the most effective tools in Paint Shop Pro.
Tabs
To select the hue, brightness and saturation from the inside of the rectangle, click on the Frame. Colors can be chosen using the Rainbow Tab.
Swapping the materials colors
If you use type, you should use the upper swatch for stroke and the lower stroke will be used for filling. You can access the upper Swatch by the left click of the mouse and you can use it for painting and filling. The lower swatch is accessed by the right click of the mouse. They are similar to layers. You can click the arrows to swap either materials or colors.
Toggle on Texture
Toggles are icons for the swatches and they allow the selection of either a color , a gradient or a fill option. Two other icons control the transparency and the texture. Check on the "All Tools" box. The tool has its own set of materials, if the box is unchecked. Left-click any side of the swatches and a dialog boxes will come up.
Choosing Color
To choose the color, click on the ring. Move the point of your selection around the square. Select the saturation and lightness level. To select a color you can also click on the basic color rectangle.
Choosing a Texture
When you choose a Texture with a dialog box, the color, gradient, and pattern will blend with a transparent texture. If you have a material or a color that is user frequently, you can add it to the swatch palette by clicking on "Add to swatches".
