I designed grafluxe.com from scratch. It took a while to figure out all the code (i.e. to make the plant-like green shapes grow different for every link while having the menu buttons as a seperate swf).

I'd like your opinion, please email me at [email protected]

thanks

Looks good. I don't encounter problems on first sight.
Though, I'd try experimenting with different colors.
The whole thing starts to bore me quite soon enough.
It looks cool, but the green stuff takes a few seconds to set up while the sight changes little.

I'd also try to find a soft background pattern.
It has a lot of white in it (im running a high resolution here, gives the site a big white spot to the right and bottom. Makes it look... well, not good.
Perhaps center your swf with a border around it. And have a soft background pattern in the html

I think this site is great. I'm really interested in building my own flash portfolio but my actionscript knowledge is quite terrible. I'll figure it out. This is a great inspiration for me :)

I understand the idea of a patterned bg, but I like the clean cut vector look.

Thanks again for all the replies. I plan to start my portfolio site soon.

ps - Ryzee -- Email me if you need some actionscript help.

Hello Grafluxe..
overall design is good, clean, balanced, the leaves are great once but after are very distracting;)

I liked the site - very original - I wonder if using a few slightly different shades of green would make the plants more alive and give it depth rather than just being art.

I've been thinking of ways to update the layout. I think slightly changing the green is a great idea. After playing with different ideas, I thought of doing this, and it's nice to hear someone giving the same opinion.

thanks

I love the overall design and the green leaf type shapes are great. The colors work really well together as well. The only thing that didn't settle with me was the font choice... but hey, that's just one man's opinion.

I updated my site to better fit hi-res screens as well as added a new color to the leaves.

Thanks again..

I also added a button to the leaves, but I'm still working on it.
