We have just purchased X6 and are having difficulty editing a bitmap. Its unable to be selected.

After reading your posts here we have tried the following which we find quite annoying for a new program.

Surely this is something simple we have missed. All we have done is installed the X6 and run the program , clicked on a bitmap and nothing ??? This has really left a bad experience especially when we just purchased this program and it cant even edit an image. The customer support was terrible , I had to ring back becasue the person couldnt hear me about 8 times. It was only a search on the web that led me here.

I dont think we will be recommending corel to anyone soon. Hopefully someone can help us.

I do not know any program that edits bitmap file formats, just the same as with jpg and gif these are raster based files. You can not select elements in a bitmap to edit unless you do this with re drawing the design as a vector, once the file is a vector then you can edit the elements of the design otherwise you are limited to using a raster program and painting the elements or background removal ect

Friend in most professional programs Drawing and creating art , they work with files that have extensions like: . Corel CDR - . They Illustrator AI and so on .

To get you open a file . BMP ( bitmap ) in corel , you can IMPORT the file and you can vectorize it or make changes.

Open image that you want in a JPEG file format and go to Bitmap-Convert to Bitmap in a Corel Draw. The option is a active for all version of Corel Draw.

JPEG is the best from BMP images formats, BMP is not always the best

In the package you will found Corel Photo-Paint for bitmap editable. But I think Photoshop most better then Photo Paint
