- D - Default Colours
- X - Switch the colours between foreground/background
- M - Marquee tool (also use Shift+M to switch between shapes)
- U - I try to use the shape path tool as much as I can
- ctrl+z - Undo (also increased my history to 500 steps and use shift+ctrl+z to multi-undo)
- B - Brush/Pencil tool
I generally stick to my hotkeys so that I can keep my cursor where it is, especially for those detailed designs.

No one mentioned CTRL+Backspace to fill selected new empty layer with background color or ALT+Backspace to fill with foreground color. I found it recently and it is really really helpful when creating new empty layers it saves lots of mouse clicking.
Others I use:
V - to jump to arrow select tool.
D/X - default black and white colors.
CTRL + '-' sign or '+' sign to zoom in and out or CTRL + 1 to zoom back to 100% default view.
Space + Mouse to move around the whole PSD file you are working on.
CTRL + E to merge layers.
CTRL + U for Hue/Saturation.
CTRL + Shift + I for image resizing.
CTRL + H to disable/enable Rulers Guides.
CTRL + R to disable/enable Rulers.
Also when drawing shapes and if you want a fixed-size square or circle hold down Shift key while drawing.
I knew more but that's all I remembered for today. These works for CS6.
