adobe CS

what is the problem though??

I'm loving Photoshop CS. Too many feature to start listing them all, but it has definitely improved my workflow. I'm in the same boat as the others though on the filter preview. It seems like a cheap Microsoft PictureIt! feature. Yikes. The one thing I don't like is trying to open a CS file in 7. It makes the text do funky things.

Illustrator CS is okay, but hasn't been living up to the hype for me. I don't see enough feature changes in the things I actually use. The 3D thing is okay, but not the nicest. I expected a little more flexibility in what I could edit after the 3D was applied. A little disappointing.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop since their 2.5 version (damn it... no layers, only alpha channels so imagine all the work to create an effect ) Totally agree on the filter preview.

And about Adobe Illustrator CS, i was a heavy user of Corel Draw but since its version 8 im using Illustartor. After Daywalker comment, i have heard some troubles with people saying that is slow. COuld be true. Anyway, i was expecting some changes to the Gradient tool: is simple awful compared to others vector based programs.

So lets see what Adobe is gonna do to fix this troubles. CS 0.1 update on its way?

I just came across this thread, and I was curious if anyone had any problems installing the whole CS in Win XP? I bought the entire Creative Suite, and it literally took me two days to get the entire thing installed successfully....disk 1 whipped through in under 2 minutes everytime - saying that it installed, but nothing ever showed up in my program files. Disk 2 would get hung up on Acrobat Professional, and still never install. After almost an hour on the phone w/Adobe's not so helpful customer service, ended up getting it installed, but had to do each application seperately. You'd think that after paying a thousand bucks that it would at least be able to install...is that asking too much?

I have noticed ever since that my Photoshop is considerably slower compared to version 7, but no problems with any of the other applications.

i found the same with my photoshop cs. think it's time i updated my computer

There's rumors about a Photoshop memory leak. I'm running a super system and it's mem usage still shoots up to 50% or more which is a lot for Photoshop on 1.5 gigs of memory. The workaround I've found for it is to run Photoshop and Illustrator at the same time. It takes a lot of resources to have both open, but not nearly as much as when I'm running just Photoshop.

you can set how much of your systems memory is allocated to photoshop, i think default is 50%.. not sure about illistrator though.

Yeah, the problem is that it's at 50% with no files open, which is just strange. Normally when the program is just sitting open with no file usage it runs at about 3%-6%.

i got CS when it first came out, the browse feature is really handy when u need to look through loads of images.

match colour tool is pretty cool I thought.
